  1. I was in a really dark place, and alot of bad stuff was happening around me, but after a few months of dark, a close friend of mine dragged me to her house and sang me an acoustic cover of Pinkie Pie’s song Smile.
After that I became enthralled in the show, it became a light in a black world, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

  2. I remember browsing 4chan for no other reason than shock value, and I started to notice a lot of pictures of ponies popping up. However, simply thinking it was just a furry thing at the time, I ignored it. A couple of months later, while browsing YouTube videos (I don’t remember how I got there) I came across the infamous apple.mov and saw the same characters I had been confused by on 4chan. At this time, the video had only been around a short while, and the description merely read ‘Non-bronies think I’m making fun of bronies, brines think I’m making fun of them. I think I just trolled the internet’. Now, after almost pooping out every luncheon I had ever eaten from laughter (yeah that’s possible, shut up) I read this and wondered just what in the name of greasy moose a brony was. After finding out, I thought everyone was just going mad. I couldn’t grasp what would be so enthralling about the show. I just ignored the whole thing for a while again. About half a year later, after some sleepless nights, I remembered how much I loved Foster’s home for imaginary friends. I also remembered reading that the same creator was responsible for friendship is magic. I now had a knowledge of brony stuff, and didn’t really mind it that much, as I was more than familiar with the ‘when I’m bored’ fiasco. I also had recently watched dress.mov, and wanted to understand more of what was being parodied. So, with teeth bared and full knowledge that most became hooked from the first two episodes, I searched up ‘friendship is magic s1e1′ on my iPod. By the end of the night, I had watched 7 episodes and it was 3:00am. From that moment on, I grew proud of liking the show, and a newly titled brony.
