» Journey of the Spark Seeking Animators and Artists

Journey of the Spark

Journey of the Spark is another in a growing pool of fan-created animation projects. Notable for being an attempt at a feature-length work, JotS is bringing together a pony fan Dream Team of sorts for actors, with names like Jenny from Friendship is Witchcraft and Meredith Sims from Fighting is Magic.

In addition to having a panel at Midwestria this weekend and following an interview with DustyKatt, the team has released a promotional video to show progress on the ambitious project.

The project is currently seeking animators and artists, and if you are interested, make sure to email the director Eric Ridenour at officialsparkmovie@gmail.com.

For a few more words from the director himself, check behind the cut.

In case you’re not familiar with the project, the story of Journey of the Spark follows the story of young unicorn Twilight Sparkle causing a rift between her friends that forces her to run away, feeling as though her friends can never forgive her.

This bout of dissension and confusion between the girls causes Discord, lord of chaos and disharmony, to once again break free of his bonds, allowing him to plot the end of harmony. Her soul weakened by guilt, Twilight agrees to a deal with Discord that will forever separate her from everyone she ever loved.

Now, in times of great darkness, the girls must venture beyond the reaches of Equestria to find Twilight and rekindle their fractured friendship if they wish to restore the Elements of Harmony once again.

The project features eight original songs written by renowned Brony musician Forest Rain and features an all-star voice cast including Meredith Sims (Fighting is Magic), Reagan Murdock (Epic Wub Time), Jenny Nicholson (Friendship is Witchcraft), Jen McGregor (Project Saturation, Reading Rainboom), Kira Buckland (.MOV series, Fighting is Magic), Mirisha Lottich (The Massive Smile Project), and Sarah Williams (Children of the Night).
