Cover by Stephanie BuscemaBad news for those who were waiting for their next fix of printed (and digital) colored horses: IDW’s latest issue is set for release on January 30, 2013. ComicList and retailer Things From Another World (TFAW) have confirmed the date. iTunes digital release has also confirmed the same day. For quite a while the release day was purported to be January 16 (in line with prior, non-delay release days) by TFAW, iTunes, and other comics retailers, but it looks like that since IDW never officially published that day, it cannot be considered a delay.
[UPDATE]: After nissl asked on IDW’s forum, comic editor Bobby Cunrow had this to say about the move of the date:
It’s not delayed… MLP is always the last week of the month!
While originally MLP comics were generally scheduled mid-month (pre-delays for #1 and #2), it looks like the comic will settle into an end-of-month release schedule. We thank Bobby for the clarification. ■

Well that kinda sucks, I think IDW just likes to watch us Bronies Squirm. I get that they want to move it from mid-month to end of month in the sense that way they might not have to worry about delays or people screaming delay each time an issue doesn’t come out in the middle of the month, but thats still just silly IMO. I’d rather have it middle of the moth. But hey I get it IDW publishes a lot of books, they gotta pace things out, I will say this though if they change the date of one more book after issue #3 i’m done buying the pony comic monthly. *at this rate there won’t be much of a difference in waiting for the trades XD*
