My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, an upcoming spin off of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic will be having a special cinema premiere on June 16th, 2013 at select theaters.  While Equestria Girls will have its official launch by Hasbro at this years San Diego Comic Con (July 18-21) we now have a brief synopsis of the movie which fits in with the future storybook synopsis due out in October from Little Brown Books.

If you don’t wish to be spoiled, we’ve hidden the synopsis below:

via Cineplex:

When a crown is stolen from the Crystal Empire, Twilight Sparkle pursues the thief into an alternate world where she transforms into a teenage girl who must survive her biggest challenge yet… high school. With help from her new friends who remind her of Ponyville’s Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy, she embarks upon a quest to find the crown and change the destiny of these two parallel worlds.

  1. Why is it that the synopsis for the movie says the crown is stolen from the Crystal Empire, while the book says it is Twilight’s crown (the Element of Magic) that was stolen? Also, when you click on the Cineplex links, you can’t see any sign of the movie. And the “official website” on Hasbro.com isn’t searchable from Hasbro.com. On Fandango, no full synopsis is available. All the images are on tumblr, DA, roundstable, reddit… Everything is leaks, innuendo and inconsistency. Either this is trolling on an epic scale, or it is the most half-assed rollout of a potentially profitable media product by an experienced marketing organization in recent history. Or maybe it is a sort of bizarre guerrilla reverse psychology marketing and is actually brilliant. I guess only time will tell.

  2. I am surprised u r making a movie about this parallel world, I know I may be a boy in teenage years but I like this kinda stuff
