In the wake of Fighting Is Magic receiving a cease and desist from Hasbro Inc, Zachary Rich, A.K.A. FlamingoRich, came to a small anime convention in Atlanta, Georgia to show the first half of his entirely fan-made My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode, Double Rainboom. I was lucky enough to be there to see the panel, and so I’d like to share my thoughts about the work that we were presented.
mmmandarinorange is the creator behind notable PMVs such as Discord Days and The Stars Will Aid in Her Escape. Although he does not have a large volume of videos his impact on the PMV scene is undeniable. Read on to find out what happens when I put the squeeze on this orange and see what kind of punch he packs!

When I started this project I was hoping that we might double the length of the fist one and end up with something about 40 minutes long. After all was said and done the project clocked in at a whopping 82 minutes! This definitely was the biggest project I have ever participated in, let alone been the head of. Personally, I think the whole thing turned out pretty awesome! Though I must say, The Anthology would not have turned out nearly as awesome if had I made it by myself. Over 30 people contributed their time and talents to this project and I thank each and every one of them. Each contribution was a small piece that I needed to fit this puzzle together and each piece was greatly appreciated.

On the weekend of May 26, 2012, Toronto played host to Anime North, one of North America’s biggest anime conventions. Round Stable writers DrDinosaur and Isaak took to the road with their fellow PMV authors to debut a working copy of the highly anticipated PONIES: The Anthology II. This is their story.
One of our goals as writers of The Round Stable’s remix culture is to illustrate the detail and creativity that goes into these works made by people who participate in the remix culture. Our upcoming series of articles will bring you a unique insight into how these works were created. The goal is to bring you a new view on the different elements of the remix and how they come together in the finished work. And what better way to begin the series than by explaining the creation of an influential PMV that I personally worked on?
