» First look at IDW Deluxe Hardcover: Return of Queen Chrysalis

As announced previously, IDW Publishing is bringing out a series of limited edition Delux Hardcover copies of the first MLP comic storyarc; Return of Queen Chrysalis. It’ll be packed with exclusives as each book will come with a piece of original art ranging from a hand-drawn sketch card, to an illustrated sketch plate to an original 11″ x 14″ painting by Eisner nominee Sara Richard. In addition each book will be autographed by Andy Price and Katie Cook.

Ryan K Lindsay at Oz Comic-Con Melbourne

Ryan K Lindsay, the writer of the Rainbow Dash issue of IDW’s My Little Pony Micro Series will be attending the Melbourne arm of Oz Comic Con at the Royal Exhibition Building from July 6th-7th. As a guest of the convention Ryan will be signing issues of his comic, so stop by and have a chat.

» Season 2, Volume 1 & Season 1 Boxset DVDs Released In Australia

Australian distributor Madman Entertainment have released the the first volume of Friendship Is Magic season 2 on DVD titled The Return of Harmony. The disk includes the first five episodes of the second season with the remainder of the season to be split up in four additional volumes. You can also purchase the Collector’s Edition Box, which comes with Volume 1 plus some extra goodies inside a sturdy cardboard case to house the entire season.

In addition to Season 2 Vol. 1, Madman have re-packaged the five volumes of Season 1 into a Boxset. All DVDs are in region 4, PAL format with 2.0 stereo and 5.1 Dolby surround sound.

Season 2, Volume 2 – Parties & Pets will be released on July 3rd. 

» Equestria Girls Premieres at LA Film Festival, Hits Select Cinemas


My Little Pony: Equestria Girls debuted at the Los Angeles Film Festival yesterday afternoon featuring a large event for kids and parents alike. Some of the talent behind the spinoff attended with Tara Strong (Twilight Sparkle), Cathy Weseluck (Spike), writer Meghan McCarthy and composer Daniel Ingram performing a few sing-alongs and book readings before the big premiere.

From today a limited theatrical run of the movie will screen at select cinemas around the country, you can find your local screening here. A DVD and Blu-ray will be released August 6th, 2013 and the movie will air on The Hub sometime this Autumn.

» Brony Thank You Fund Raises $2,500 For Cancer Research

James Turner of the Brony Thank You Fund has sent word that they were able to raise $2,515 towards the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute via community donations this week in memory of Kiki Havivy, who Tara Strong had been helping to fight Cancer.

They will be continuing with their regular goal of raising $50,000 to create the Derpy Hooves Scholarship at the California Institute for the Arts. All donations are tax-deductible in the United States.

» Everfree Northwest – Ponystock 2013 and Musical Guest Lineup

Everfree Northwest

The Seattle based fan convention Everfree Northwest has announced the return of Ponystock 2013, a musical concert which has 20 performers taking part this year, including voice actress Michelle Creber.

The second Annual EFNW will be taking place next month from the 5th-7th July at the SeaTac Airport Hilton Hotel.
