» Brony Thank You Fund Is Now An IRS Tax Exempt Public Charity

Brony Thank-You Fund

The Brony Thank You Fund, a charity which has done much in the past has now received it’s Tax-Exemp Public Charity status from the American Internal Revenue Service. This means that all donations made are now tax-deductible. The good news is that this applies retroactively to all donations made since the 8th May 2012, if you have donated since that date you can use the receipt to claim money back on your income tax.

To celebrate that the fund has become the one and only federally recognized Brony charity, on Monday they will be holding a donation give-away with chances to wing a ‘heavily autographed poster’ one of two dozen MLP trading card mats or even Sibsy’s drawing of your OC.

» Pony.fm - A Music Hosting Site For Bronies

A new website for the music side of the community has recently launched. Pony.fm is a music hosting site for music content creators, allowing users to upload and promote their work in a variety of formats on a database with extensive search terms.

Pony.fm is a music hosting site for bronies. The goal of the site is to do for pony music what Fimfiction did for pony fan fiction: provide a platform for creators to host and archive their work, built by fans for fans. Like Bandcamp, the site accepts lossless uploads and provides perfectly tagged downloads in a variety of formats; but it also allows users to follow each other, mark songs as favourites, create downloadable albums and playlists, and more.

Furthermore, Pony.fm also has fandom-specific features that can’t be found on the mainstream sites like YouTube and SoundCloud, such as the ability to search for tracks based on whether they’re original or a remix, the song they’re a remix of, etc. Not to mention that it offers unlimited downloads for free – an issue that many artists struggle with on Bandcamp and SoundCloud, often having to resort to file hosting services like Dropbox or MediaFire that require the artist to maintain tags and alternative formats themselves – which they usually don’t, leading to a poor experience for listeners who want to grab a song and chuck it on their iPod.

As a gift to the brony community, Pony.fm has truly been a labour of love. After nine months of development and five months in private alpha, it’s finally ready for the greater fandom to come in and start filling it with music.
