Moira was recently added to the game, and we're all excited for Self-Reference: The Map.

I haven't played in a while, and I hear the balancing is messing up the game a lot. Mercy's weird rework made the other healers less viable and I have no idea how Moira works

I haven't actually played her, but I assume something like this:

The new nerf for Mercy could be helping, I have no clear opinion on it yet. Moira is really fun though.

Is Jeff Kaplan actually a doodoo head or do people just like making these YouTube poops of him?

It's all the one channel that does the "update" vids, who went on to make a couple music ones too. Dinoflask is amazing at using Jeff Kaplan as a mouthpiece to takes jabs at everything Overwatch-related without being bitter about it.

speaking of which

from what I understand, jeff from the overwatch team is actually a super cool and nice guy despite having the behavior of an awkward nerd

But to be fair that was like almost 20 years ago now before he even started working at blizzard, dude's had plenty of time to grow out of being an angry mmo forum poster.

Oh yeah don't think too hard about the title, it's tongue-in-cheek really. Plenty of both good and bad that Blizzard do with minimal to no input from Jeff Kaplan. He's just kinda the face of the game, for better and for worse, and people love blaming him for everything, so I figured the title should match.

Following on from a Discord discussion last night, I’ve seen several people complaining about the lack of feedback on Moira’s Grasp (piss) beams, but I personally don’t seem to have a problem. Now it’s very possible that I’m just blithely assuming that I’m doing the Good Job when in reality I’m missing everything, but I can hear that climbing whistley chime thing when healing and the growly noise when hurting - same with the balls, there’s even the damage ticking.

What do you lot think?

Yeah I have to confirm that it's an issue. I'm legit glad the feedback is working for you, and it's entirely possible that I wouldn't be bothered if I changed my audio settings a bit or whatever, but I wish there was more visual feedback in particular on when the beam connects. Symmetra's beam has a proper "grab" look to it when it's attached to someone, Moira's beams don't. It really wouldn't take much for me personally to make it more clear that yup, the piss/evil beam is connecting, a little visual thingy would really make all the difference.

ima do some screenshots and experiments when I have some actual downtime!

in the meantime one thing I’ve noticed is that the healing piss is not so much a beam as a cloud of vapour/mist which continues to heal after you let go of m1

also also (change of subject) - if Twi is Symettra and Fluts is Mercy, who would be Moira??

Symmetra's beam also has the benefit of a distinct and rather loud sound when it's dealing damage (which to me sounds like somebody rubbing a balloon) as opposed to the standard ticking.

Sym needs to have that damn shield generator nerfed. Why is there an infinite timer ult in the game anyway?
