Trio the Punch: Never Forget Me is back, and I'm already erect

yessss!

looking at the schedule, I have some games I really look forward to this time


- Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls is a super cute game you can get entirely for free and I'm happy it'll get more exposure because it's genuinely very fun
- The Portal race seems like it'll be short and intense
- More Turrican and Ecco is always good
- ActRaiser 2 is kinda trash but also annoyingly hard so I wanna see that getting destroyed
- RAYMAN 2 PC YUS!!! Color me super hyped for that because 1) I really love Rayman 2 and 2) last thing I knew about the speedruns on that was that they couldn't get it below 2 hours or something so seeing that it'll be done in 1 1/2 hours intrigues me greatly
- Super Mario RPG is always <3
- AWFUL BLOCK holy cow they got not only Virtual Hydlide and Avoid the Noid but also Mega Man DOS in there, incredible
- Chex Quest friendos
- Dead Cells and Celeste, oh my
- TASBOT AW YEAH

Awwww yeah! Things I'm looking forward this winter:

- Portal *inbounds.* should last considerably longer than Out of bounds, but it's still estimated to be 15 minutes, heh
- Splatoon 2
- Nier Automata [E] ending which I didn't know was a thing, it's usually just [A] or [A+B] afaik
- SMRPG, I submitted a prize for that game and it got accepted so donate lots during the block!
- Trauma Center speedruns always look to be more painful than it's worth which is interesting to say the least
- Crypt of the Necrodancer - another prize I put in, and Coda low% is a really intense category for an already fairly intense kind of game
- TAS Block, always.
- Super Mario Sunshine Bingo sounds hella fun to watch
- Super Mario Odyssey - heeeelllllllllllllll yeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

I always watch TAS block and Awful Block, and I’ll probably watch Dead Cells and Celeste too.

I tried to hang in there tonight but the God of War II run kinda ruined it for me. Those are too crass and mean-spirited for me. Maybe the new one is different but I’ll never get around to playing it anyway so who knows.

the end of Metal Gear Solid 2 was exciting, anyway.

I liked Madeline being there because it's the first time someone else agreed with me that god of war just seemed -mean-

Because for pete's sake that game series. It's so mean.

God of War, in it's PS2 days, were fun action games, but it came with all this garbage with Kratos and everyone being shitty assholes all the time, especially Kratos just being angry and an asshole.

I don't know how the new one is, but the old games? yeah, kratos fuckin sucks

Pocky & Rocky run today was super good and intense. That final boss was amazing. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow was also enjoyable, and the glitch showcase at the end was really funny. (AGAIN?)

Also really enjoyed the Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze race. Looking forward to Resident Evil coming up soon and Silent Hill 2. I wish I could stay up to watch NieR:Automata, since they're going all out to Ending E, but it's going to be on at like 4am for me and estimated to last until around 9am and with work tomorrow I don't see how I can stay up to watch that.

And I've never played God of War but, yeah, Kratos always seemed like a huge dick. I have the new one, though. I just haven't gotten around to playing it.

New God of War has Kratos still being a dick but with way more nuance than the originals, and you get a surprisingly decent story about him and his son that avoids a lot of the usual "sad dad" nonsense

also the Rayman 2 run was everything I hoped for and more very fun watch, super recommend that one if you missed it

Sanic Ball meme'd me but it was good memes so I'm happy about it.

TMR running Cuphead is absolutely impressive and absolutely insane every time

Celeste run was fantastic. I love that game so much

Welp, another GDQ comes to a close. I didn't get to see every run I wanted to due to the time they came on but I guess that's what the YouTube uploads are for! But I'm glad I was able to watch the finale of Super Mario Odyssey and Super Metroid.

Also, they seriously need to stop hosting speedruns of I Wanna Be The Guy and all games like it at these events. They are not fun or interesting to watch. And if they MUST include them, please, relegate them to like 3am or some ungodly hour and move stuff like the awful block to an actual decent time.

I like those speedruns but I should mention I also watch Fangame Marathon when it's on, which is a speedrun for charity marathon event that consists entirely of I Wanna be the Guy games and their ilk.

I’m catching up via VODs now because I was either asleep, at appointments, or taking my mom to appointments all last week. Mega Man DOS and Avoid the Noid are great if anyone missed the start of Awful Block. (Mega Man DOS is actually kinda fun to run! )

Sorry to bump the thread, but the GDQ youtube channel just put up videos of another speedrun marathon that happened just a few days ago... but I had no idea it was happening or anything so I totally missed it. It's called Frame Fatales and it's an all-woman speedrunning marathon, which means you need to ESPECIALLY not look at the youtube comments if you check the videos out. There's a few games in there that you rarely see speedrun, and they're still uploading some of the videos, so I recommend checking it out? The ones I've watched so far have been really good.
