A bunch of the music in Dragalia Lost is weirdly catchy and high effort and extra for a freemium mobile game
...which, it turns out, is because they hired a J-pop artist to do the music and a bunch of it is remixes of her songs

Since it's now December, here's a suitable one for the season. (Yes, it's one of those looped-a-zillion-times videos, because you're worth it.)
Who would have thought a knockoff of "Winter Wonderland" and the bridge from the Andy Griffith Show theme would go together so well?

little fun fact here: the first Blaster Master Zero game was a re-imagining of Blaster Master for the NES, yet both games in the Zero series are stylistically based on TurboGrafx 16/PC Engine games instead of NES games

on a whim i recently got my feet wet with the Dragon Quest franchise, starting with the games for the GBC. they are known to have very conventional music for a fantasy RPG, but some of it is still A+
this has just enough levity to it that it makes me think of Paper Mario bosses

you've probably heard this if you follow Smash news. i feel like the GBC soundfont really brings out something in these compositions they usually don't otherwise have
