The Vipers have been a-shuffled, and Soarin' wonders: is there any situation to which an apple metaphor isn't appropriate?

Speaking of, in all the hullabaloo and confusion of coordinating all these Vipers, a Cylon agent wormed her way into one of the vulnerable civvies like... well, like a worm in an apple. You may not have time to find ANY of the explosive charges before they go off, and even if you do, it will take some serious Jack Plow-er loose cannon law enforcement to get the information in time.

We can't chance losing two civvies I don't think, and me personally? I'll discard my tre and thus it won't hurt me.

Ick, that doesn't seem good either way. I don't know which one would be better, to be honest.

Personally, I think it would be better to only risk 1 ship, but then I'm not sure on what other people would have for hands, nor do I know if it would be worth getting TRE cards for everyone.

I don't know what to suggest. :bluh:

Skill cards are a highly renewable resource; whatever is on those civilian ships is not. I think the choice here is obvious.

Also, Luna wins the award for least likely to be a cylon. I win the award for "least likely to be a cylon even though he obviously is". Oh, also, Quint, would you like to jump the ship? You'd ensure the safety of the fleet, and if anyone has a Calculations or Strategic Planning, using that along with your reroll could mean that we all make it out of here unscathed. You could even discard the treachery card that you're bound to pick up, unless it turns out Bremen is even more of a cylon than me.

I say go for option 1. As Glaed says, we can't risk two civilians. Honestly, the discard will probably hurt worse in the long run than the drawing TRE, since we're losing options that could help us. The TRE card itself won't be much of a problem, because eventually something will either force you to discard cards, or if I make a Skill Check on my turn, I can use my "Try Anything!" ability to make TRE count positive for the check.

Worst case scenario, we just have to be wary about discarding if we think Discord (or a revealed ponylon if one shows up by then) might have a Sabotage. :pinkieshrug:

Yeah, I think it would be best to jump the ship. I don't know if I can trust you yet Toastghost, but I think we could get the fleet to jump early and lose fewer resources. So I say go option 1 and I'll jump the fleet.

PONY WATERBOARD THE SUSPECT

After viciously extracting a confession from a suspected accomplice (seriously, who would believe a real non-saboteur pony would run a store that only sold quills and sofas??), you're able to chase down and disarm four deadly explosives before they go off.

Out of five.

Civilian ship destroyed!
Civilian Ship 10: -1 Population and -1 Morale

The fifth charge was placed where it would do the most damage of all: not on the Equestria, not on Colonial One, not the tylium refinery, but the Fireworks, Waterslide and Puppy Dog Factory ship. Morale is crushed by the loss of the good ol' FWSPDF, but the explosion is very, very pretty.

Lost the Fireworks, Waterslide, and Puppy Dog factory? Clearly this is serious. The fleet needs to get out of there NOW, before the Ponylons locate the rhinestone mining craft or the silkworm terrarium! Moving out early shouldn't be a problem, just use those 3,000 tons of sparklers and bottle rockets as a navigation beacon.

FTL Control engaged!
1d8 -> 7! Success!
No Population lost!

The only question now is, where the heck did we end up?

Barren Planet

Distance 2
Lose 2 Fuel.

The answer to "where are you going" is "nowhere in particular." But hey, it's a nowhere that's closer to Dream Valley, and not filled with Ponylons, so that's something, right? Right?

Well, not everyone is convinced. They think Luna is a lousy navigator, lousy Princess, lousy dresser, talks funny, might turn into Night Mare Moon, and she's not as cool as her sister anyway. They want her out. PERMANENTLY.

By making her feel so unwanted she'll leave forever and go to eat ice cream right out of the carton on the Moon or something. Maybe they'll dump pig's blood on her like in 'Carrie'! The plan's kind of a work in progress.

The question is, how deep are the ponies willing to go to root out the conspirators?

Barren planet isn't bad, there could be worse destinations. But Xavier only contributing one card to a tactics check we barely passed and then discarding a tactics card later has me suspicious.

As I said earlier, Luna is the least cylon of anyone. Taking the bad cards is probably the better idea. I'll tell you what, we need a way to get rid of all these treachery cards, no? Why not have a grand execution party! First one to launch me out of the airlock wins a prize!

Seriously though I don't care about that last part, just don't get Luna killed.

The TAC card I discarded from the last crisis was the last of the TAC cards I had. I didn't want to blow my last TAC card long before my turn, and I had Declare Emergency in case if things went sour (and they almost did). And when it came down to the discard, it was either that TAC card, or it would be a second Declare Emergency, so I picked what seemed to be the better choice.

Not like it matters now, since the card will be discarded anyways. :bluh:

I don't think it would be a good idea to execute the Admiral this early in the game. We don't have much (if any) reason to believe that Luna is a cylon, and it would be bad to lose another morale. We can hold on to the treachery cards if we have to, and maybe we'll be able to use them on the CMC's next turn. Treachery cards are definitely better than execution.

Well, it sounds like most people are against it (even if I'm not sure about counting Discord :pinkieshrug: ). I never felt that there was enough evidence for a normal execution, but if it was the choice between that and discards I thought it might be worth it.

Ahem... I know it can be fun to plan elaborate practical jokes like pouring blood on other ponies, but in these desperate times we must come together in the spirit of friendship and killing ponylons.

Discord is, like, eight votes. It's just that none of them are for the same option and none of them are for any of the actual choices.

It's really, really hard to get mayorin' work done around here.

You know how you just jumped away from the whole Ponylon fleet, thus leaving them in the dust and solving your problems forever? Well, apparently you didn't lose all of them. There was a Raider stuck in the landing gear of one of your civilian craft -- somepony just dislodged him by poking him with a broom handle, and he is ORNERY.

CYLON ATTACK: Scar

1. Activate Raiders
2. Setup: BRAVO Scar DELTA 2 Civilian Ships ECHO 1 Viper FOXTROT 1 Viper
3. SPECIAL RULE - Personal Vendetta: Keep this card in play until the fleet jumps or Scar is destroyed. Whenever Raiders are activated, activate Scar twice. Scar can only be destroyed on a roll of 7 or 8.

No Raiders to activate!
Ships placed!
Scar's on the loose!

Scar is basically a super-Raider; he moves (twice) when Raiders are activated, gets shot at like a normal Cylon craft, attacks vipers and civilian craft according to the same priorities as a Raider, but take note that "only destroyed on 7 or 8" apples to any possible way to get rid of him. So, on top of only hitting him with a Viper or Weapons Control on a 7-8, Pegasus's Main Batteries only kills him with a 7 or 8 no matter if there are any other raiders in his space, Authorization of Brutal Force can't get him since it doesn't make a roll to destroy Raiders (just to avoid losing Population afterward), etc.

It's now Gilda's turn! She has a new friend.
