Eh, I'm a tad disappointed with the ending. I was kinda hoping the CMC introduction would go somewhere or that Luna'd show up, but no dice. Plus Discord is a ton of fun and it'd would've been really cool to have him as a recurring villain.

But, really, those are just nitpicks on what's otherwise a fine two episodes and I can't really complain just because things didn't turn out exactly how I wanted them to so whatever :pinkieshrug:

The ending was wrapped up a little too quickly for my tastes. I was hoping Discord wouldn't just be defeated like that.

Still though, that was one of the best episodes yet. That ending was obviously a Star Wars reference.

I'm disappointed that Discord turned into stone again, but I loved how chaotic Ponyville turned under Discord's rule (I, too, want a Big Mac dog). And Twilight slowly losing patience with her discorded friends.

Spike: What about Rainbow Dash?
Twilight: Congratulations, you're the new Rainbow Dash!

Rarity (throwing away rock): Let us never speak of this again.

I actually thought that was an artist goof until I realized who it was and how he drank the glass and threw the chocolate milk over his shoulder only for it to explode.

They're being aired as part of season 2, so until Luna didn't actually show up it was up in the air if that "no Luna for season 1" comment extended to all the episodes they made for season 1 or just the ones aired during season 1. We know it's the former now, of course.

I just think it's weird that they acknowledged her existence back in part 1 but she still hasn't turned up. I can understand why they wouldn't, since she's essentially a whole new character and they don't necessarily want to introduce her here and distract from the meat of the story, but I just think it's a little odd from an in-universe perspective that she apparently doesn't give a fuck about Discord being loose.

Or maybe when she finally shows up for real it'll be revealed that she's been grounded for the last year and Celestia wasn't about to make an exception just because the god of chaos and disharmony was fucking shit up.

It's been fifteen minutes since the episode finished, and I haven't stopped smiling and giggling like a schoolgirl about the whole thing. Everything about this episode was gold. I don't even care about the anti-climax. Everything else makes it all worthwhile. :awesomedash:

Agreed, Discord's defeat was really rushed. But other than that, the episode was amazing - a perfect mix of comedy, drama (sad Twilight :fluttersmith:

) and heartwarming. I'm super pumped for the new S2 episodes now, the humor was so much more anarchic than in S1.

Best episode. I'm going to have to watch it many more times before I notice all the small Discordified details, like the glass filling top-down. Also Meanershy stole the show (though frustrated Twilight had some pretty good scenes too).

I kind of want a Slenderbunny Stampede av, if that's not too much trouble. :flutterdear:

Also they shouldn't have gotten rid of Discord so permanently. Now what am I going to do with that nick? :ohrarity:

With the way Discord was acting, I half expected the second attempt to use the elements to fizzle as well, followed by a "what did we do wrong this time" quote.

I guess Discord just doesn't give fucks until the last possible minute. :pinkieshrug:

Best parts were Big Dogintosh, Angel stomp, "Here comes Tom!" - the last one got a big laugh, Tara's snarkiness was great. :awesomedash:
