Well... um... to derail the music derail...
I was originally here to maybe chortle about Rarity's Art of the Mattress song (because it absolutely kills me every time, and I don't care how stupid I look when admitting to it) and just say something about how I liek teh series and teh voices, yet I ended up reading all 12 pages of incredibly deep insight. You people blow my mind.

I honestly don't have much to add in terms of fantastic theories about the plot and/or meaning behind the series itself, but I do have a few questions.
So why does Luna say that Twi's cosplay is plusgood? Obviously this is a nod to 1984, but why on god's green earth make a reference to 1984? Maybe I'm just getting too wrapped up in the details, but I've always been taught that every detail should be treated as intentional by the maker when it comes to interpretive pieces like this. I mean, there is the whole idea of corresponding messages between Orwell's novel and FiW about the horror of people and how they'll do anything in their struggle for/to keep power, but I feel like that's a bit of a stretch for a tiny, one-time thing from the horribly awkward character who hasn't made any previous appearance.
Maybe there's another kind of reference being made that I'm not aware of. I'm not the most pop-culturally adept person out there.
Also, this surrealism is crazy, mannnnn. I'm still at the stage where I'm
kinda grasping the plot and how all the characters fit together, but I love Sweetiebot. And I know I'm kinda late on this, so ignore it if you will, I just had to put the question out there: why can I not shake that weird feeling every time a character
supposedly unwittingly alludes to Sweetie being a robot? It just seems very out of place for the FiW writers who are so good at being subtle. The audience already knows that she's a robot, I can't imagine at this point that these unwitting comments are just for the laugh value. On the other hand I can't really see a twist where everyone reveals that they know Sweetiebot is a robot, because that would destroy the essence of the characters and the base values they represent, but I'm also not the writers. They could easily do another twist in a complete

moment.
Then again... I could just be... overthinking...
