There is no requesting of anything for preview clips or before the show airs. That is not fair to people who avoid spoilers. Any claims made before the time the thing actually showed up on TV are null and void. This has been explained several times. That av should be Glaed's.

They make up for it by being creative with what colors they use to replace the ones they don't have and the use of techniques such as dithering. Just generating a custom palette of 15 colors doesn't make it look retro.

Yeah I thought that it might be bit too complicated to get into avatar format nicely, thanks for a good try.

Edit:

I tried making one myself, I managed to remove the panning of shot, but even after I removed over half of the frames it was way too much to fit into 75KB. It was not even close, it was somewhere around 250KB with 50 colors.

I then tried making small loop like you but I don't have any idea what kind of gypsy magic you use to get so many frame to fit into that 75KB limit.

To begin with, you didn't even optimize it. That same avatar with optimization and no other changes yields 66.3 KiB for me.

I didn't mean to offend you, I honestly have no idea how you manage to do some stuff you do. I want to learn though, so I'm curious how did you optimize that avatar?
All I do for optimization is select Save For Web from Photoshop then check settings for dither, transparency etc, and then just reduce color palate until it's just under 75KB. After that I use Gif Movie Gear to check timings and just save it.

Do you use some other tool to optimize them or something like that?

I use Gifsicle, but you already use GIF Movie Maker, which has optimization capabilities in Animation > Optimize. You'll want every option ticked. Most of the time, Gifsicle will give smaller results, so that's what I use.

GIF Movie Maker is relatively good at color reduction when locking colors (i.e. intentionally keeping one or more specific colors for the final palette), at least when it doesn't involve dithering, so with your current process you can save your avatar at 125x125 as a .psd file from Photoshop and then open it in GIF Movie Maker. Remember to activate 24-bit color at Edit > Preferences > Export > Maintain 24-Bit Color. You'll have to play around with the palette size. Save only after you've optimized it and it's the desired filesize, since for some reason GMM erases the undo history upon saving.

Other tips: reduce the number of frames as much as possible while keeping the action readable, and cut the area of change from one frame to another as much as possible (so the frame is cropped more after optimization, thus making it smaller).

Nice thanks. GIF Movie Maker's optimization didn't do really anything, but Gifsicle did cut it down to 66KB after I learned how to use it.
Also good grief it is annoying to use command line tools in windows after working with Linux for many years.

Like I said, you have to tick every box in the optimization dialogue. But if you're using gifsicle already then go for it. Just use -O3.
