Listened to the whole thing right after I saw it on EqD. Apparently it was 4 hours long before trimming, so that's probably where all the awkward pauses went.

Looks like there's still a long way to go until FiW6. A 30 second long TS/Luna song sounds intriguing.

Why did they have to point out that Granny Smith was alive in episode 3? Nobody would've ever noticed!

The Luna song is going to be called "Princess of the Night". It's going to be badass, I can already tell.

e: It's a Twi and Luna duet! Hell yes.
e2: And there'll be an extended version later for sure.

Just checked this out, are you sure it's not a rooster? I can't tell.

Turns out they think of themselves as surrealists rather than absurdists.

"I think the sensation I'd most like to cause in people that watch it is like, imagine that you're watching just a real episode of My Little Pony but you notice early on that Applejack's face seems to be melting, and as it progresses it's melting more and more and everything else is so normal but something's really wrong and you're a little scared--and it's also funny, but mainly you're scared."

That makes sense. "Absurdism" carries a burdensome connotation, that you do what you have to do, no matter what. Even when you don't like it, the fact that you must go along and deal with what's there is where life has meaning. The fact that absurdist works of art seem to feature a lot of bizarre, surrealistic non-sequitur is basically a byproduct of the "no matter what" part, and in FiW, there's not really any sense that the characters find any meaning in doing what they have to do (which they really DON'T have to do).

Then he outed me to his mom and now she thinks I'm weird. :fluttersmith:

My conception of Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon has been forever destroyed by FiW. It just seems so wrong to hear the non-FiW voice come from those two!

Ska punk version of Sweetie's Big Race. I always thought this song would sound awesome with guitars. Vocals are kinda weak though.

EDIT: Found youtube version with video (btw I like how my idea to join the part where Sweetie sings in the forest at the beginning became the "definitive" version of the song, this is like the third cover I've seen that includes it).

I figure it follows from the Applejack face-melting quote. It makes no sense and yet the narrative acts as if it does, but the audience knows it doesn't, so there's that moment when your brain stumbles. This stumble is, so far as I can tell, the point of surrealism.

I like some of those alternate takes, but then it made me realize that Silver Spoon's VA has a tendency to peter out and die at the end of every single line. :applejargh:

I just had an idea! While we wait for the next one, let's try to guess the pun they'll be using for the title. We already know the episode it'll be based on. My guess: "Dork Side of the Moon."

Arg, posted the same thing twice. Anyway, I really love that these unused lines show just how much attention gets put into making FiW. The fact that most of the material in that video is still damn funny shows that they've got their act down pat. Heck, they've even got a few running jokes across multiple episodes there that were never even used! :crack:
