I'd be rather surprised if no one has made a Markdown —> BBCode transpiler that you can run as a browser extension or something.
Also Markdown sucks for ordered lists because you have to count and update the numbers yourself, whereas (for example) BBCode's list function will count and number the list elements for you.

Unless you're like Octavia and want ordered lists to work right the first time. There is absolutely a cost in using BBCode.

Also I believe some Markdown variants aren't picky about numbering for a list.

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
Yeah, whatever flavour Visual Studio Code uses is happy to take pretty much anything, even non-sequential numbers. The linting extension I have installed will yell about it if it isn't just "1"s - which seems a bit weird to me, given how Markdown should be readable as plain text, and using all ones will make it inherently less readable.ComradeCosmobot wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2017 3:13 pmAlso I believe some Markdown variants aren't picky about numbering for a list.

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
The suspension avatar is now back and fully implemented. I'm working with Void right now to teach them how I've set up the forums for code maintenance purposes and how to add new extensions (like the improved [youtube] tag), so not much else has gotten done tonight. The good news is that tomorrow you should get both improved [youtube] tag support and maybe something else. Officially, the next thing in the changelog is Ponisilver, specifically:
- Changing the site logo from the phpBB logo
- Making the user info be on the correct side
- Move the username above the avatar
- Hide the rank text if there's a rank image
- Hide post counts
- Make [url] links open in a new tab
- Show the custom title directly under the avatar

"You cannot make a post so soon after your last" keeps popping up in PPPP, which if I recall had that removed back in the old forums. Any chance that could move over here?

RIP Syndrome wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 3:51 pmThe signature image limits are wrong. They're the old one (468x125) instead of the new one (IIRC 500x150 or something, I know the height was 150px but dunno about width). I imagine whoever set it probably just copied over the number in the rules, which was never updated, so yeah probably should update that too.
Hate to be a bother, but any update on this or are we keeping the old sizes? I just want my previous piece of art stuck back in my sig but the software won't let me do it since it's 150px tall.RIP Syndrome wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 6:13 pmApparently the new signature sizes were 600x150 btw, I found my old signature back from when the new rules were implemented.

When I go to "Your Posts" it often only shows me one post.

Cool, thanks a lot.
This has happened to me once or twice, too. It seems to happen after a bunch of visits/refreshes to the page in a short time period.West Filly wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2017 3:32 pmWhen I go to "Your Posts" it often only shows me one post.

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
Fixed this evening:
- Ponisilver is back!
- User profiles are on a not-dumb side again!
- Ranks no longer needlessly display the name of the rank above them!
- Usernames now display above the avatar!
- Custom profiles are now placed under the avatar!
- Custom profiles support some BBCode again!
- URL tags now open in a new tab again!
- Wow! Making rich-text profile fields work right in an extension is unnecessarily hard and impossible to do correctly in a way that doesn't preclude other profile fields from ever being allowed by another extension! Thanks phpBB!

Known issue: mobile theme is busted due to stylesheet changes that didn't take into account their impact on the responsive stylesheet. I'll revert ponisilver for now until it's addressed.

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
When this gets fixed down the line, is it possible to also get rid of the gangtags in mobile view? They're extremely annoying since they're so massive in comparison to everything else on the page. Maybe throw in something useful in the empty space it leaves behind, like user gender or something.ComradeCosmobot wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2017 4:38 amKnown issue: mobile theme is busted due to stylesheet changes that didn't take into account their impact on the responsive stylesheet. Well, it asked me as I logged in if I wanted to hide my status this visit. I checked the box marked 'Yes' and I still showed up. It works now, it just didn't then.

Even with that set, I think you can still see that you're online (it appears in italics). On the old forum, did your name not show up when you had that set?

The old forum did not show you in the online users list if you were invisible, not in italics or otherwise.

I know that italics names on the list mean that they're set to invisible, because mods can still see invisible users there. Your own name showing up like that might be a new thing in phpbb3. Has any non-mod seen anybody else's name on that list italicized?

I have a draft saved. I click the button which says "reset" and nothing happens.

Not even after you've changed something in the draft? The reset button doesn't appear to rely on JavaScript (at least from a cursory glance at the site, but phpBB has buried scripts in weird places before), so even if you had a script blocker it should still work.

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
All of the issues with ponisilver should now be resolved. In addition, it should now be restored fully to its old state (i.e. correct colors, icons, etc.). The responsive mobile theme should work correctly as well.
Let me know if I missed anything or you have suggested palette tweaks and I'll try to land the fixes.

e: what seems to be happening in the case of "search user's posts" is that the post itself is mirroring the width of its title text. if the title is too wide for them both to fit, the title gets moved down

Ah, you can still see the text. You just have to use the scroll bar!

Wow I forgot how ugly this whole baby blue color scheme looked. Ah well, at least we got custom titles and correctly positioned miniprofiles.

Yeah don't worry about me. I owe you guys this for the fact the forums were lost in the first place. But if you want to contribute, I'm sure Kef will appreciate help keeping the site up once he's got that donation business settled.
