I can just expand the quick reply box with clicking and dragging the thing in the bottom right corner of it, if you like that better.

It seems like once you post, it'll show all your threads, but do the search again (or even f5 the page) and it goes back to only a handful. I've looked into it before but I'm baffled.

I'm guessing we'd have to turn on query logging and see what phpBB is trying to do to figure out why that's happening.Void Chicken wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2017 10:51 pmIt seems like once you post, it'll show all your threads, but do the search again (or even f5 the page) and it goes back to only a handful. Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
My initial thought is that it has something to do with phpbb's caching, because i seriously don't see how the same url could produce two different queries like that. But I can give the query logging a shot when I have a chance.

As some of you may have noticed already: smilies categories are back.
This just leaves the VERB themes to be worked on.

PhpBB caches search results for half an hour by default. I disabled the search cache completely at least for now (we should have the load capacity to handle it). So we can see if that sorts things out.
e: After making this post, I refreshed the egosearch a few times and all my posts are still there. So it's definitely a cache issue.

Pet peeve: YouTube embeds behave oddly with zoom and/or thin portrait orientation, so you have to scroll across the player. Also the full screen button isn't enabled for YouTube embeds?
No scrollbar at 100% or 110% zoom, but there is one at 125%.

It was easy enough to edit the iframe code to allow fullscreen, but someone better versed in html/webdev will have to offer an answer for the scrollbar thing. That reply also clued me in that Notifications does not display anything on my phone (mobile/thin portrait layout), but it still presents an invisible modal interactable whatsit. The next tap always snaps the page back up to top and does not activate links.

Here, have an annoyingly and incredibly nitpicky request: can you change the blue of the moderators to match the old one? The new one (below) is MAXIMUM BLUE and it looks a bit garish to my eyes. For reference, the old blue was #0066FF, which is a lot softer but still sticks out well enough.

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
Something I'm noticing now is that, in Firefox, when I hit the red paper icon on a thread with lots of images, when it finally stops loading in images it no longer jumps properly to the first unread post, like it did in the old days. Instead I'm left hanging at some random spot on the page. Was there perhaps some Javascript magic embedded into the verb themes that forced it to reset the position after all the images were loaded in?

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
If you put a full YouTube url in [youtube] tags, it doesn't seem to update to just having the video ID in there unless the post is posted and then edited.
An example is below - if you click the Edit button on this post, the URL will change to the video ID, and you'll be able to hit preview and watch Rick Astley's biggest hit.
----
Also, there appears to be no way of including monospaced text in-line? Pre, fixed, and tt don't seem to work, and code

I think was a later addition so it wasn’t restored.
I’ve been trying to figure out how to restore full YouTube linking as well, but am unsure how to proceed. It is not easily modded in using the new extension system, so I punted on the issue.

For some reason, [img] tags just open the image in its original page instead of expanding like before. Doesn't matter if I click on the image or the magnifying glass, it'll just redirect straight to the image's URL.

I've never noticed this, except for cases where some people deliberately enclose an image in [url] tags. Are you getting this with all images, or just certain ones?RIP Syndrome wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2017 5:33 pmFor some reason, [img] tags just open the image in its original page instead of expanding like before. All images. At first I thought it might be a Firefox 57 thing, but it was already happening before I updated.
e: Oh yeah, obviously if the image doesn't get timg'd it doesn't happen. It's just that the gallery view thing doesn't work at all.

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
Aw yeah! I'll be so glad to get the old theme back.
ponisilver is the nicest and clearest-looking from the currently available themes but it is too damn bright (and lacks a bit of color contrast). It hurts looking at it in the morning and in the late evening.
ponigala is too dark and the font color on the overview pages is blending too much into the background, making the titles hard to read.
ponisummer does a better job in that regard but the red of the post icon blends into the background.
YPPOS... That does everything right from a usability perspective but it's not my taste. I like the black-green scheme in my linux terminal but I don't like that on websites.

I realized when I was theming the topic view that the gender pips actually were part of the profile fields themselves. I'll fix that after the first version of Shine lands.

A couple of things I dunno if you've already noticed or not, but IIRC the Verb themes had some amount of padding between the avatar and the gangtag, unlike the prosilver-derived themes. Also the regdates were all just Oct 31, 2017 format, no times or leading day of week. Or in other words, they disregarded the user control panel timestamp settings to shorten the regdates a bit.

I remember miniprofiles disregarding this when you were viewing a PM, but I always chalked that up to phpBB being inconsistent.RIP Syndrome wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2017 3:07 pmAlso the regdates were all just Oct 31, 2017 format, no times or leading day of week.
