Just deployed a new version of Ponisilver that should hopefully be a bit more consistent, color-wise. Also, Ponisummer is back for those of you who like a warmer theme. There are two bugs I want to fix in Ponisilver, but they should be fixed shortly.

Re: mlponies.com: I will pass that domain off to Kef with the others once things are sorted enough. In the meanwhile, the mlponies.com redirect should be fixed. Let me know if it's not.
Next up, by the way, is restoring Ponigala. This will be a little involved, since phpBB (still!) only delivers its images as GIFs rather than PNGs so I have to manually touch up the white matte on them to force it to be black.

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
While I work on restoring pre-existing functionality, there are some things you can do to help everyone out!
- Do you have a full res version of the Ivory Tower Logo? It will help improve image quality on Retina displays.
- Perhaps you can get a 2x res version of the Ponisilver header!
- I'd also appreciate a 2x res version of the Ponisummer header:
Please note that the two images are sized such that a) the first is exactly 4 times the width of the second, b) the second EXACTLY matches the image to the left of the first, and c) the second can repeat infinitely. Better still if you can keep the railroad in approximately the same place.

Is there any way to make ponisilver actually fit the page width? There's so much dead space on the sides.

I'm working on remaking the Ponisilver banner. I've pulled that frame out of Fall Weather Friends (my copy of it has slightly less saturated colors, but eh) and gotten it cropped down, but it looks like whoever made it had to redraw part of the tree on the left by hand. The sky also has a very slight color gradient to it, but that can be copied and pasted.

Not without reworking the style. I have no plans to do so to add new features like that to the style at this time. My main goal is restoring the original functionality.Chaos Sonic wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2017 9:06 pmIs there any way to make ponisilver actually fit the page width? Here's my take on reproducing the Ponisilver banner. First, the full-sized version:
And here it is scaled to the current banner dimensions and 2x current:

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
Have been working on fixing the various topic icons to make them proper PNGs with alpha so that Ponigala won’t look like shit. I’ll replace them on the other forums as well, which should be a largely superficial fix.
I’ve also deferred work on the smilies categories mod since that’s going to require reworking it nearly from the ground up due to the way it integrated with the forums formerly.
Once Ponigala is done (hopefully tonight?) I’ll start work on a slew of various minor mods I applied myself and then I’ll tackle smilie categories and lastly the VERB themes.
ETA on the VERB themes is probably another week or two as a result; smilies categories will probably take a few days to restore on its own.
And then I will worry about trying to restore what we recovered from the old Gem Mine.

One benefit of the reshuffled order of implementation and delay of Play, Shine, Strive, et al:
For the first time, the Poni* themes will have moderator pips and gender icons.

It seems like the image resize-o-matic script triggers even on small images now. It tries to stick them in a gallery, like in this post, so even if they're tiny, they have a big enlage icon slapped on top of them.

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
Ponigala needs a bit more work before it can go live, but it is coming along well. Should be done tomorrow after I finish optimizing the colors. I should be able to deploy those two header images.
In the meanwhile, can you construct a copy of the Ponigala header that is the same height as the 2x image sizes above? It's not fitting in the current size header and I would hate to make matters worse by shrinking the header.
Note that the alpha gradient will be needed because that night sky is itself a gradient.

Looks like thread previews are still broken if you have a poll in your thread, or maybe just broken period. Idk haven't made a thread without a poll so can't say

Do you miss the soothing dark colors of Ponigala? Well good news! It's back in a new and improved form!
Please note that I expect more color issues with Ponigala due to the way I derived the various colors. If you see something that could stand to be fixed, let me know what CSS would be more pleasant and I'll tweak it.

Should be fixed now. It was a problem with how the CSS selector found post previews when a poll existed.RIP Syndrome wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2017 3:24 pmLooks like thread previews are still broken if you have a poll in your thread, or maybe just broken period. I feel like a soft yellow, like the ones used in the header, would work better

One of the main reasons I like Ponigala is because of how much its green "lit" icons stand out. I'm glad to have it back.

The icons standing out is good, but I agree that yellow would work better, a bit softer if possible.

We're already using that desaturated gold from some of the building accents for tertiary elements like borders used to separate table rows, or the border that separates the profile area from each post. If we start using that for more secondary elements like lit icons as well, I think that's really going to start changing Ponigala's overall theme.

The "enlarge" overlay appears on all images, even ones that are already displayed at their full size, including fake emotes.

Took care of restoring most of the small mods tonight:
- APNG smilies
- Gender icons
- Moderator pips
- Per-user per-thread post search
- Bookmarks link has been added back to Quick Links
- Thread titles can have emoji again!

Is it possible to make the Board Index < Not Horse < Pinkie Pie's Party Palooza links at the bottom of each page in addition to the top? If I just want to go back one level after reading a thread, I have to scroll all the way up to the top. Hitting the back button doesn't work as effectively because the unread post icons won't change.

There is a 'return to "x forum" underneath the quickpost box at the bottom of ever page. But maybe that could be expanded into a full breadcrumb like up the top.

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
I have a small suggestion/query regarding the technical feasibility of the idea: I mentioned before that the Verb themes don't have online indicators and that they probably should since it's p convenient. I dunno if there's really a place to put them in (probably not at least the default theme ones since the Verb themes have centered names/avatars) so that's why I'm wondering if it'd be possible to do something like a dotted underline (in green or something) of online users' names in the miniprofile?
I've seen it at a few places and I think it's a subtle enough indicator, but I imagine it might be too much effort to do for something most people don't care about. I think it's pretty neat and would make sense from a feature parity perspective across the themes, but yeah idk nuthin about how painful something like that would be in phpbb, so that's why I'm sort of wondering. Considering work is being done on those themes to make them work in newphpbb and all anyway.

Re: Hey the forum thinger is busted! Issues known and found.
Mobile headers should be fixed, and the "Return to" link should now be visible in the mobile theme.
At this point, the two remaining items I have on record are smiley categories and the VERB themes. Both of these items are pretty big and time-intensive, and it will probably be a few days before I have anything new to report.
Let me know if I'm forgetting anything else or if you have specific style rules to suggest based on tinkering with your various Web Inspectors.

I'm seeing it. Here's PhoolCat's sig, for example:
It's not on every image, the ponisummer/ponigala screenshots above don't have it, but I'm definitely seeing it on most smaller images. It might be browser related. I'm using Safari on a Mac, if that helps.
EDIT: As soon as I make this post, the overlays are working properly again on my end. Weird.

Was it an intentional change that the reply box now gets a scrollbar like on the old forums if you write something too lengthy to fit in the default view, or is it a bug introduced by some of the recent changes?
For reference, before it auto-expanded with Javascript magic or something, idk. It was pretty neat because the scrollbar is extremely garish.
