Screw you guys. These shows are just reruns. They were better when they aired on Saturday Morning.

Ducktales?

The NES version totally had the best music of all time in that moon stage.

Apparently the show was developing a season wide story arc, and was ambitious before it was cancelled.

No they didn't, that's the problem.

Look, I've been over this. You know why Mickey, Donald, and Goofy aren't in any of these things anywhere? The comics are still strong sellers and they don't want to risk their big moneymakers looking ridiculous on television.

I can't even watch Ducktales. Half the time they're taking a really good story from the comics except they can't use Donald in the show so they carve up all his lines and give them to all the other characters. I think that snooty butler even got a couple one time. So there's all the enjoyment of watching the comics come to life, except one of the characters is all chopped up and shambling around in parts like some demented Frankenstein's Monster.

duckworth is cool because hes a dog and still has the word duck in his name. and scrooge always makes fun of how low his salary is even though he's the one paying him.

and what the heck is up with goldie? she's never around normally but whenever scrooge would get involved with anyone she always pops out of a cake or something with a shotgun and just starts shooting everywhere

As you'd know if you bothered to look at the comics, Scrooge was a long-term duck in a town full of short-term jerks, and that's a pretty good way to inadvertently get yourself a first love. An awkward first love that you screw up because you never really bothered with this "relationship" thing before, and decades later it's still kind of confused. I'll have to dig out the long box again but I'm pretty sure their reunion is the first time Scrooge really "creatively loses" any part of his fortune. Not counting the bit where his money bin's getting full, but that's a Donald-centric story so you won't know what I'm talking about.

Now, this isn't all your fault. They kept it out of the cartoon for a reason. Can't really break up the idea of a fairytale romance, the kids might actually ask their parents uncomfortable questions. And without Donald, Scrooge is their marquee character, so they can't make him look untrustworthy, instead of being a guy who made some terrible decisions in his youth, so when he does the right thing he has to do it secretly otherwise people will get suspicious.

i find myself screaming at my tv because none of the other characters in ducktails can figure out that that saleseman guy is actually gizmoduck it is so obvious because he changes his close in like a tornado and shit like that and it isn't like he even disguises his voice or anyuthing

wrecked my immersion

Mike Polvani told me a lot of funny stuff about Disney when he worked on The Little Mermaid. That was nice.

Anyway, you should totally watch this: (Eventhough it is not disney, but it is from the same time)

More cartoons should be such: This is epic, Mike told me to watch this.
