Hey guys, yet another newbie (posting in the newbie thread, oh my!) and a bit of an old fart in terms of foruming. I used to post on titansgo.net as The Portal, but since that name was only applicable to Teen Titans, I came up with some new fangled name. I dunno if some people remember be/are here from there other than Kef, ixnay, and Dark Matter, but we'll see! Looks to be a pretty good place you have here.

As for my ponying, I got into it from a friend as well as the general word of mouth from the internet. Still not entirely sure why or how I got into it, but I tend to like cute things, and that helps. I feel a lot of what got me into the show was Derpy Hooves of all ponies. I kinda love how there was a intentionally derped character basically photobombing scenes. So yeah, that's my story.

Damn... After what, half a month of partial lurking, partial posting, and I've missed so much :gotcha:

For instance, the sheer amounts of people who have come in (And on that note, the sheer number of euros coming in... Looks like USA *puts on shades* is about to be overthrown)

I feel bad for lurking as long as I did... Of course, I did it in part because I have a new xbox, and in part cause I had a tragedy in my family (Dad had a heart attack, and he has to do a divorce with a wacko wife... :facehoof:

When I first watched ponies, I remember my friend's disclaimer: "Just WATCH a couple episodes okay? Trust me you will like it!"

The second the intro started playing I realized: "I am going to come out of this liking this show.... OH GOD!" :starity:

I really liked what I saw in season 1; the good old-fashioned cartoon humor and awesome animation. It managed to keep my attention and drag me along episode to episode, but I wasn't quite addicted yet.

When season 2 came out, I hadn't watched ponies in a while and when I finally watched a few of the episodes, I rolled my eyes. They are going way too far with this pony thing, I hope their popularity doesn't get to their heads.

They upped the ante a considerable amount in season 2 and made some incredibly bold decisions, which I thought would take a turn for the worse.

Eventually I watched all of season 2 and was SOLD! :-D

I personally found you through TVTropes, they linked you in the "MLP history" thread (the one with the quotes from 4chan's original thread). I looked you up and saw you were much more serious than many pony forums, so I wanted in :gotcha:
