Yes, after like a year of nagging, prodding, and et cetera, we FINALLY have a dark theme! Say hello to Ponigala!

I do hope you enjoy it, from what I understand this was a lot of work including a whole new set of customized icons to work on the dark BG, and we should all thank Numsoic a whole hell of a lot for making it.

I switched it back to Ponisilver because it's the Celestia-est theme

I like it. Since it changed in the middle of the night I feel like I accidentally slipped into dark ponygoons and now enemies will take more ammo to kill.

Okay, this is odd. Your latest post made shows up in black text, but as soon as you make another one, it turns to white. And only for your own view!

Quite the surprise, ponigala showing up out of nowhere. Swapped it back to ponisilver, though, since it's still daytime and the dark theme is straining.

This Ponygala somehow makes me think this is some shady backally slums of the internet, of course not that it is, but thats what comes to mind.

Looks like some Emotes don't hold up too well in ponygala.

I changed my setting back to PoniSilver and then to Ponigala (set at the moment) and while my settings say, "Ponigala" it remains displaying ponisilver.

Edit: I went back into the control panel and it showed "ponisilver," I've changed back to ponigala and everything seems to be working again.

Edit2: I'm having the same thing as Whitenoise Poster, this post is showing in black text, and some a few other posts from other posters are showing in black texts.

Edit3: It appears to be the last post in every thread I browse showing up in black text.

Feedback: I like it, it's much easier on the eyes. :sweetiebot:

Ooh, stark contrasts.

That was quite the surprise. I dig the Spike look this has, but it does clash with the emoticons and avs people have here.
Maybe a bit less saturation? Tone down the contrasts, dial it towards something darker, lower the amount of colours, make it a bit more... uniform?

It's definitely easier on the eyes, so that's a good thing :)

Check again, is this post in black text (while it's the last post in the thread) or is yours still back text (as it no longer is the last post)?

I should probably mention, I'm also running Chrome.

New theme is great, but I think I'll stick to ponisilver, generic as it looks.

I still want a primarily gray theme, though, like SA has. I like my internet forums gray and boring and depressing :gotcha: .

I'm really embarrassed about the new theme. It was intended to go into general testing mode, not intended to be forced upon anyone. I didn't actually tell Cosmo this, so I admit full responsibility.* Anyway, yes, as soon as I tried the theme in actual use I saw the glaring color clashes that I could not preview, especially in the icons, and a lot of bugged colors which are merely summer theme colors I didn't catch. I remember ponisummer was almost as incomplete as this upon release, with the excuse that it was made in a hurry and literally changing colors blindly in notepad, but it worked out in the end. For those who enjoy the idea of a dark theme (and I kinda do), fixes will be gradually rolled out. Assuming Cosmo gives me his edited, proper phpBB stylesheets, any further changes should be relatively easy.

I use the Ponysilver theme because it is the, uh, least... conspicuous from across the room. :sheepish: I don't need people seein' ponies at my station.

When you say 'ponigala' I image it as Pony Gala, like a party. You walk in a room and BAM! A party of colorful ponies. You look around in confusion. The exit is no longer there. There is no remnant of your world. Did you really survive that accident...

A theme for all the ponies... possibilities:

  • Every post gets a random pony color.
  • Split the screen into six vertical sections. Text changes from color to color as it enters Pinkie Pie, Rarity, etc.
  • Change the entire color palette every 100 ms.

It's more likely that we'd base the theoretical Strive theme off ponisummer. Not that I wouldn't be in support of having options for all the ponies! It might be a bit extraneous but I like the idea.

Eh, their heart is in the right place. Most of it was good, and it's certainly a more positive narrative overall than some other news outlets have decided to go with.

Also, they showed a little bit of Polka is Magic :3:

I won't touch the masculinity thing in either direction but that crew thoroughly did their homework on that. It dodges a lot of the pitfalls other articles tend to fall into. Nicely done!

Probably the difference of it being an internet based channel, heh.
