Paramount Pictures and Hasbro are teaming up to make live-action and animated films based on the toymaker’s products, as well as original stories. The movies will be developed by Hasbro’s newly launched Allspark Pictures and Allspark Animation. The announcement confirms a Variety scoop from last month about the formation of the company and the appointment of Greg Mooradian, a former Fox 2000 and Paramount executive, as its head. Allspark Animation will be led by Hasbro’s Meghan McCarthy.
I wonder what this means in regards to a sequel for the MLP movie, it has made $43,403,515 worldwide so far (which only opened in Australia this week) so it will probably get one but perhaps not after a GI Joe or Transformers animated movie first.

I guess Hasbro had enough of Lionsgate making trailers for the MLP Movie by having an intern cut them in like an hour or something.

The funny thing is Hasbro tried to acquire Lionsgate over the summer and failed.

43 million? Damn. Seems good for a low but not no budget cartoon movie.

It seems like Transformers and Ponies are the only foreseeable movies they will make with Paramount Pictures. They have a few side films like G.I. Joe and Ouija, but i'm not sure if they will be making a comeback. So high chances of another pony movie, yay!

Ever wanted to see Pinkie Pie sitting down to a Thanksgiving dinner with Barbie, Ken, Lego Batman, Superman, and two human children?

The closest word I have in my vocabulary to describe that is: terrifying.
I don't envy the person who had to animate and edit this ad. Too many hours in front of the insane look of a 3D Pinkie Pie cannot be good for anybody's mental health.

If we go off of the usual height charts (or Somnambula's issue in the comics) that suggest that ponies are generally about 4 feet tall, vs. those kids she seems about that height or just a little bigger.

I like it.

Also in the related videos is last years ad? Which has Pinkie Pie and Rarity in a big toy musical thingy, not much individual stuff but they're still somewhat prominent throughout the 10 minute capitalist christmas manifesto.

Pinkie is there to make modern movies Superman less grimdark bullshit. Also to eat everything remotely sweet.

Yes, but, you see, this height chart explains their size entirely, based on what Twilight Sparkle called an "eight-foot" candy cane...

Looks like Jayson Thiessen is finished with the franchise and moving on: http://www.talkhouse.com/magical-introd ... d-bronies/
By today’s standards, that convention was very small, with only about 300 people in attendance. It certainly didn’t have nearly the amount of scope and organization that most Brony cons do today, but there was a real sense of discovery about it. A raw, unbridled joy and enthusiasm from a ragtag group of misfits at the beginnings of a journey. And as I now put my own journey with My Little Pony behind me and look forward to my next adventure, I will always look back and feel proud that for some people, this little show about colorful ponies and their lessons in friendship was a life-changing experience. It certainly has been for me.

We live in the future!
Back in 20111, the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic TV series had only aired one season and was already generating a following online.

Which writeup? I only remember HH's articles about the fandom in general, and Kefa's legendary writeup of Unicon.

He went to the first Bronycon and posted about it, if I recall correctly. I think Lauren was there.

Nah, Lauren wasn't at that one. She came to the next one the following summer, in 2012.

My big post on the Chinatown one was based on me sitting at Jayson's table for like the entire day and asking him about five billion questions. I read this article with trepidation sure that he would mention that one really persistent nerd who wouldn't go away

E: Remember how at the time it was a huge crossing of the Rubicon because up to that point this whole forum regarded bronies and conventions and the fan community with naked contempt? :allears:

It turns out the new Equestria Girls book, A Friendship to Remember, has some pretty major events in it, despite the incredibly generic synopsis and preview pages. The story is about everyone losing their memories of Sunset except for her personality during the first movie, so she has to figure out how to fix this without their help. She spends a significant amount of time as a pony, and she reunites with Celestia. Sunset teams up with Trixie (human). Summary at its Wikia page.

I wonder why they didn't just call it Apple Jack's instead?

Applejack got tired of being left out of so many toy sets that she gave up and went to Mexico in search of her own fortune.

Since the forums died the weekend of the finale I didn't list my ultimate s7 ranking so guess I'll go ahead and get that over with

Favorite Episodes
Fame and Misfortune
Discordant Harmony
Once Upon a Zeppelin
A Health of Information
A Flurry Information
Fluttershy Leans In

Meh Episodes (didn't hate/love)
The Perfect Pear
Campfire Tales
Celestial Advice
It Isn't the Mane Thing About You
Triple Threat
Marks and Recreation
Forever Filly
Hard to Say Anything
Rock Solid Friendship

Episodes I didn't like
Shadow Play
All Bottled Up
Not Asking For Trouble
Parental Glideance
Honest Apple
A Royal Problem

Episodes I Skipped
Secrets and Pies
To Change a Changeling
Daring Done
Uncommon Bonds

So yeah it was kind of another meh season. But the episodes I liked o did like a lot and the meh episodes all were about ok at least.

Fluttershy and episodes about Twilight's family were the definite highlights of this season.

I honestly think it's been the best season since 2. Even the more average episodes were pretty entertaining, and there's only a few I'd really call bad. I wish it had more songs, but the movie certainly made up for it!

Though I gotta say, I'm not a fan of the Legends of Equestria stuff and they spent too much time going into all the lore (the finale sure felt rushed). Hopefully if the Legends get more episodes in the future they'll handle them right. I mean I loved Sonambula in the comics, though that might be only because Pinkie was the one telling the story.

That aside: it was still an amazing season :-P
