I bet this collector's series is the brony-targeted stuff we saw at the toy fair months ago. Zecora and Nightmare Moon can't be too far behind. :awesomedash:

I think that the toy might not technically be color-correct. As most know (or at least should know, :rainbert:), Celestia is actually pink, but the toy looks like it's pure white. Sure, it's much more accurate than before, but you'd still be stuck with a technically incorrect Celestia :gotcha:. Though I guess it doesn't really matter that much (and it might just be my display or the fact that I glanced at it pretty quickly), considering only the most enthusiastic collector would really be bothered by it.

It's not the world's greatest photograph; my guess is that Celestia has a pearl-esque shimmer or other effect that doesn't come out very well. Her wings normally have this very cool glistening/glittery effect and you can't see it at all in that photo. They've done this with other toys, so it's probably in the cards.

A properly out-of-box and well-lit photograph would tell us a lot more.

They must have deleted it from the illustrator file (since that vector has a tail).

Probably because... they couldn't fit it all in. :v:

The question is - will they redo her voice?

7 of 9 people found the following review helpful
5.0 out of 5 stars Great toy!
My 3 year old adores this toy. It's her very favorite pony. The flapping wings really add something, as do the lights, but I honestly wish that she didn't talk.

:gotcha: My wings are so beautiful!
:speakest: indeed, sister
:gotcha: I'm a princess! Are you a Princess, too?
:speakest: ostensibly...

I'm actually extremely excited for the toys this time around. I might not go all out and get the color-corrected Celestia, but everything else seems real exciting. What I really want are the Trixie/Lyra/Scratch brushables :awesomedash: and Nightmare Moon too. The blind bag wave is real interesting as well. I have completed the first set, and will try and complete this one as well. I'll post pictures once I get more accompanied to this forum.

Oh, and the theme sets are a must have... and the Crystal Empire line... God, Hasbro really wants me to go broke. It's a shame because I literally have 0 dollars to my name at the moment :rainbert:

Their DJ PON-3 toy is pure white, isn't it? There are parts of this that look slightly pink-tinged in shadowed areas (mainly the wing), but that could just be the camera. Given how much of an improvement this is, I'm not going to split hairs at this point over a detail even most viewers don't notice.

So what does it say in red at the top? And EqD is thinking it might be a Comic Con thing.
It so they are sooooo going to be scalped afterwards. I'd look towards high 3, possibly low 4 digits for them.

Yeah, IIRC it was said to be a knockoff or fake. I guess they were just trying to preserve the surprise or the reps didn't know what the higher-ups were deciding, which is pretty normal for a large company like Hasbro.

From what I can recall, whoever emailed Hasbro asked if this was going to be sold on the market, now I don't know much about Comic-Con however but I think it's a limited-handing-them-out-thing? Each year Hasbro has a themed Comic-con pony I think.

Eh - would they allow the MLP logo to be rendered in gray like that? I thought they're usually fastidious about logos.
Besides - look at the pics, the Pony's eyes don't even point in the same direction. What a knockoff.

No, you're getting the toys confused with the poster from last year. The poster was a limited 500-count print that was handed out in bags of merchandise last I checked. The actual pony figures are sold for inflated prices.

But that's not going to change the fact that if this is true, then SDCC Derpy is going to sell out FAST. I'm not interested mainly because I only collect Brushables, but I hope that this could mean more fan favorites in the toyline such as DJ P0N3 and Lyra.

But it looks like the Derpy toy has brushable hair. I don't have any pony toys of my own so I may be missing some key information here. Also isn't there a DJ P0N3 toy on the way?

Well, by "Brushables" I mean the basic "Playful Pony" size mainline toys that cost less than $10 usually, since brushing their hair is pretty much all you can really do with them aside from using all the big accessories with them (I.E. The Wedding Castle, Pinkie's electric train, etc.). This basic size is where we're getting the DJ P0N-3 figure, in the multi-pack with several other Playful Pony figures (Trixie, two generics, RD, and Pinkie) along with a new-mold Nightmare Moon who is a size class of her own.

FS Ponies are the larger size, coming to about the size of original G1 ponies and usually come with a nice little selection of hair accessories, etc and are more towards the "styling the hair" aspect. Which, come to think of it, if FS Derpy comes with an actual Muffin clip-on accessory...
