Just Cause 2 is $4 right now. Get it. You will not be disappointed.

Imagine Grand Theft Auto set on a massive tropical island where your sole purpose is literally to stir up as much shit as you can. You also have a parachute, a magic grappling hook, and an utter contempt for the laws of physics.

I also grabbed JC2 today as well as Binding of Issac. And the scariest part I discovered is I can buy the games through the steam phone app while at work. I don't think i can trust myself.

Sharing is caring! And the sale ends in three minutes!

Also, I just looked through my steam backlog list of games and...I have THIRTY-SEVEN GAMES that I haven't played or installed. :starity:

A lot of them I don't even remember buying. :psygum:

Double also, a goon friend gifted me a train game..? Something on SA I presume?

The Binding of Isaac is great, so get that. Wrath of the Lamb is $0.74 too, so if you already have BoI then you can pick that up (only get it if you're already pretty good at vanilla BoI). There's another shot at Bastion and Saint's Row, too. Q.U.B.E. is also good, but I think it's already been cheaper as a flash sale. The Thief games are supposed to be super cool, but I couldn't really get in to it. Recettear is kind of neat, I didn't play very much of it though.

Blonk gifted me Dungeons of Dredmor this morning. If only he had waited a few hours :twonk:

Speaking of Carpe Fulgar games, anyone have a verdict on their most recent one, Fortune Summoners?

I don't typically play games starring anime girls, but if it's the metroidvania-styled platformer with Recettear levels of "yayness" I think it is, I could be tempted to make an exception.

Also, I apparently have a moldy copy of Nuclear Dawn that was collecting dust in my inventory since I don't know when. It's a pretty fun team-based FPS shooter with RTS elements, so if anyone's interested, it's on sale for 99% off. I'll even cover the remaining sale's tax if you'd like.

Bastion is on flash sale and I don't know whether or not I want it. I know a lot of people talked about it but I'm not sure it's for me, and it sounds like replay value may be a bit low/a short game. Anyone who has it wanna comment?

Also Thanks to:

this is where you get bombarded with people shouting "buy it!"

It's a really really good game, the story and gameplay are blended together almost seamlessly, and and there's more replay value than you'd think due to a New Game+ mode, as well as a lot of combinations of difficulty inducing Idols and weapons.

I only played the demo, but I'd say it's good. The combat system is the star, and, while it requires a lot more presence of mind than you'd think, it's got some interesting depth to it. I''ve seen some love for the characters over in SA, and I hear the game gets better as it goes along.
Try the demo, is my advice.

Train simulator's fun... but. It tends to spaz out and run at 50% speed on my computer. :( So it takes me an hour to run a 30 minute route.

Bad Rats is an Incredible Machine rip-off that uses non-deterministic (which is to say, semi-random) physics. You can run the same exact solution ten times and get ten different results, which means it's completely possible if not outright likely for you to come up with the right solution and have to run it over and over again until the physics engine finally decides to work the way it's supposed to.

I picked up Trine 2 for $3.74 and it's been a blast so far. Gorgeous lighting effects and some really fun physics puzzles - plus online 3 player coop play! Whats not to love?

I also ended up grabbing the Binding of Isaac DLC, because I'm pretty damn sure I'm not ever going to see it cheaper than .74 cents, and apparently it adds a fuckton of content.

But to be perfectly honest neither of the above truly matters because I've been devoting most of my time to playing La Mulana - an amazing dungeon ruins exploration game a la Spelunky. It's been out as an indie title since 2005, but a fully remade version was just released a couple days ago as the flagship title for Playism, a GOG.com-esque site for bringing Japanese indie games to western audiences. It looks gorgeous. Where the original game was a love letter to the MSX system, this remake channels some PSX/32-bit style.

If this seems kickin' rad to you too, check out the SA thread for more neat tidbits.

TL;DR: Save some of those steambucks for La Mulana if you love massive HUGE archaeological explorey games. /salespitch

You can add shortcuts to non-Steam games to your Steam games list. This is very useful because then I don't have to remember where all my non-steam games are/actually use Windows shortcuts.
