I ended up with a kickass battle with my M3 Lee (7 kills, which kinda made me feel like god lol)

And another one in my KV-1, which landed me the Ace Mastery badge, and actually... both tanks got it :allears:

I love them!

But my computer crashed before I could post my stats for those battles :gonkity:

The only reason why I'd kill the dude is because he says E-75 has no armor, and also that he thinks the Tiger II is a shit tank....

*cocks shotgun* I wonder where he lives :rainbert:

And Glaed, your name is legit enough, don't go killing him for that... At least I can kill him because he insulted the best Tier 8 tank in-game and the best tank in the entire damn War....

Glaed it's nice of you to finally join the clan!!! :allears: Also the King Tiger by far was a terrible tank in WW2. Sure, it was well armored and had a strong gun, but it broke down ridiculously often.

Well, looks like we'll have to duel it out... And really, the best tank in-game that was in the war is Tiger, I'm sorry, whatever you say, I don't care, I love the Tiger in-game and in the War, it had insane armor for when it came out, it had a good gun and range... The best part about it was that it's range was ridiculous for a tank at the time.

So if you got a problem, prepare for a sniper round inside you're head :glare:

I love Tiger, your argument is invalid

And Westy... a high velocity 88? If you think that's good... that's a huge understatement... The gun could penetrate any tank in the war, and sure the mechanical problems were occasional, it was still operational, better than when the Jagdtiger came out :-/

If the Jagdtiger was actually taken time on with the testing and bug fixing, oh man, it may not have won the war for Germany, but it would've pushed the entire war back by a few months at least...

Hey I just got your app. Welcome to the clan and welcome to ponygoons! :pinkietoot:

Edit: Teru, it's like saying the Jagdtiger was one of the best tanks because of its horrifying 128 that knocked Shermans out without them even knowing what was hitting them. The fact that its gun broke simply from lack of proper alloying made it sub-par. It was also HUGE. Another problem of the King Tiger is despite its amazing gun and armor the resources it took to build were ridiculous.

The T-34 was probably one of the best tanks of the war.

Lol, I agree with the Jagdtiger, particularly because for the most part, it just became a fortified bunker, it would not stop breaking down, the immense size of the gun also contributed to its awfulness since the 128 was such a big ass gun....

Meanwhile, Tiger II... I am not saying anymore it's the best, cause you kind of realize that once you look at it from a mechanical point of view

T-34 was one of the best tanks of the war, deadly balance between armor, speed, and mobility... It's productivity was like in the thousands, per month, so suffice to say they were the zerglings of the war :-I

Tiger is another best tank of the war, it wasn't completely balanced like the T-34, but with its 88 gun, and the armor, along with its mobility (which was okay to some extent), it was a very powerful tank, and so yea...

T-34 and Tiger were very good tanks, case closed :yay:

poor USA only had M4s to make up for it :fluttersmith: Ah well, they were also little zerglings..... more like banelings

I better not be only guy who plays starcraft II here.... if so: :glare:

The T-34 and Sherman were the best tanks for exactly the same reasons: while not the best they both could be built cheaply and fast, and could preform all roles adequately and all things considered the T-34 and Sherman were equals (Sherman wasn't a shit-can like most people make it out to be deal with it scrubs)

Panther gets an honourable mention for basically being a precursor to the modern MBT but falls short in the "not breaking down all the damn time" category because Germany is terrible at tanks and over-engineers everything and that knocks it out of the running; if they ever actually fixed the maintenance issues and got production into full tilt shit would own but thankfully the Nazis are terrible and it didn't thus the war was shorted and many lives were spared yaaaaaay Nazi incompetence!

lol... best replay ever!

Now to find out when another tourney will be around so I can join :twonk:

I'm sorta joking since if the battles are on the weekends, then I really can't be trusted, especially if they are every weekend... my parents are divorced, so I'm on a good computer at my mom's... And then I can't even play World of Tanks at my dad's (Unless my step-mom stops being a bitch and let me play a little bit... even then, her computer is acting up :facehoof: )

So like I said (back on topic) Best. Replay. Ever. :-I

The M4 Sherman was a nice tank, but the Fire Fly is the variant you're talking about, the most common M4 is the Sherman... And that was only just more than par with the Pz IV... Forget the Tigers, they couldn't pen those monsters (frontally, and really, when is it gonna ever make it to the sides?)

Now M4 Fire Fly (Easy 8 I think) is a variant that was used by British tankers or canadians, USA didn't really use them, but so the Fire Fly was the M4 that could destroy (Or at least damage) Tigers and Panthers (There have been times where a Sherman would actually kill a Panther, but I don't think there was a kill for Tigers in the Sherman)

The USA and Russia were very productive in making these tanks, and they were all very good tanks, not the best quality like the Germans, but the quantity made up for that.

With that being said, who here thinks the T34 (Tier 8) is a worthwhile tank to get? I'm thinking about getting a second premium tank to keep my credits up... This is due to the fact that I'm gonna start grinding the credits for E-100 the minute I get the research, but that's quite a ways away, so I just wanna know if T34 is worthwhile...

I still don't like how you guys don't think the Tiger II or E-75 have strong armor, and I have steel walls to prove it :glare:

It's because we're all totally super serious tankers, and the King Tiger's armour can be penned the french long 44 of all things. I mean really. :twonk:

It's mostly just an in-joke Teru. :-/

I'm not sure how much the T34's performance has changed, but it used to just be a T29 with a bigger gun and tier 9 heavy matchmaking. T34 performs reasonably well at tier 8 from what I see of it, but I don't know if it's worth the cash or not.

I am not sure, if it's because of premium (which doesn't matter since I have 1 year of premium :v: ) or not, but I've seen the amount T34 players recieve per battle, and it's about 100k+ every time I see it (You still have to keep in mind for the repair costs and the ammo costs, but that's still a shit load of money, it makes me dizzy looking at them making how much I make in two rounds with my Lowe... That's prolly cause of the shit teams I had this past week, thank god the x5 special is over >.<)

But if it's cheaper than the Lowe, I'm by all means gonna get it, even if it is the same pricing as the Lowe, that's still a decent deal, considering the net you could be making...

Teru wrote:Words about Firefly and Sherman and Easy 8

Well, Sherman is the more "general" name, there were a bunch of variants. Heck, there was a "variant" placeholder for Canadian production. The main difference between an ordinary "sherman" (World of Tank's M4, which I've seen referred to as a "Sherman I") and the E8 was actually the suspension, although they also mounted a better gun and engine than the first run variants of the M4. The Easy 8 name actually comes from the suspension, since it was such a smooth ride compared to early Shermans.
Actually, speaking of, an increased variant number (Say M4A1 over M4) doesn't necessarily mean an overall improvement or better variant, and a bunch of changes were made to specific variants' design and production without any change to the variant number, so an M4 from early in production and an M4 from later in production would look a bunch different, carry a different gun, and so on.

Now the Firefly's an entirely different tank. It's an American M4 (generally A4 variant) hull converted by the British to mount a British designed/built turret and 17 pounder gun. Interestingly enough later in the war they became a lot LESS useful because that gun didn't have good HE shells (and even when it did get them way late they weren't anywhere near as effective as even the standard 75mm Sherman gun's HE) and was a bunch less useful against soft targets (buildings, non-tank vehicles, infantry).

Other random fact Glaed knows about the Firefly: Since most of them were converted M4A4's, an average Firefly would be right at 2 inches longer than say an E8 or the WoT M4. Had to do with the engine setup. And why were most of them A4's? It's what Britain received the most of through Lend-Lease. (again, engine setup. A4 had a Chrysler multibank engine with 30 cylinders, the variants fielded by the US had V8 engines.)

I know way too much about tanks.

TL;DR: Firefly and E8 are different tanks and Glaed needs to stop spouting random tank info. Also yes the Firefly is cool.

A fun fact from a Canadian to add to those. The Canadian modification of the M4 was called the Grizzly. It was basically an M4A1 Sherman with more armour and a more rounded sloping. It also had special Canadian-designed tracks. :yay:

I love me some Canada! :twonk:

I hate the (non-E8) Sherman in-game cause it uses the dumb A1 cast hull which makes it look like some sort of dumb anime tank and I HATE IT HARD EDGES ARE WHERE IT'S AT MOTHERFUCKER

Incidentally the "Tank Destroyer Doctrine", combined with the fact that the 75 on the Sherman had superior HE characteristics compared to the 76 and the fact that the US Image not expecting the Germans to build more than like two Panthers is why most US Shermans still had 75s at the time. Ironically by the time more 76 Shermans started getting sent over the need for them had decreased as German tanks became increasingly rare sights on the western front and the ones that did show their face could be penned with the 75.

So, in light of D3's release, how much fun I'm having on Tribes, and Wargaming's other releases down the line, I'm shelving my plans for an IS-7/IS-4 until further notice. :-/

I had forgotten how the grind in this game can be and at the moment I am content with the top tier tank I already have, which is the Patton.
