fall flavor appreciation thread
post ITT whenever you are enjoying a fall flavor treat, such as pumpkin spice or any of its less overexposed cousins
I am currently conducting my weekly replenishment of muscle glycogen with the assistance of pumpkin spice latte light ice cream, as well as pumpkin spice and apple cider flavored cookies from Trader Joe's

I'm enjoying tea, which I do in every season, but it's especially nice in Fall and Winter

Re: fall flavor appreciation thread
I can't have pumpkin spice too much at once, it's one of those strong flavors that I enjoy the first few bites of and then go "welp I'm done for a week"
and I don't really know what other fall flavors there are so I'll just talk about mint tea being great because mint is year round and its cooling powers bring the world closer to an eternal winter with every one I brew

now I am enjoying some apple cinnamon tea, which, while not specifically made as a fall seasonal flavor, seemed appropriate when I saw it at the store tonight

I like apple cider, but make it caramel apple cider and then make it winter so I can enjoy it with a peppermint hot chocolate.

Re: fall flavor appreciation thread
alcohol free cider is so much better than alcoholic cider it is ludicrous.
i don't know what its like in germany, but your best bet to find it in america is near or at an orchard
just be wary, it is delicious but usually very high in calories. dangerous stuff.

Honestly aside from cider the amount of special alcohol free beer that's available in most Dutch supermarkets nowadays (that's not just pilsner) is ridiculous
Like, I mean that in a fully positive way. It's nice to see so much choice

Re: fall flavor appreciation thread
The stuff we call cider is this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_cider
It's basically just cider straight out of the press (or refrigerated and pasteurized to keep it fresh in stores) before it's been allowed to ferment at all. If you happen to know any local cideries, maybe you could convince them to sell you the fresh cider; hopefully you wouldn't sound too crazy for wanting to drink it.

Re: fall flavor appreciation thread
Yes, until the last decade or so, pretty much all cider in the US was non-alcoholic. It's vastly superior to apple juice, but usually only widely available in the Fall. Growing up, we'd heat up a mug of cider and throw a cinnamon stick in there for a deliciously warm Autumn beverage.
Also, unlike the from concentrate garbage you got at IHOP while we were at Bronycon, it actually tastes like apples.

Remember when ponies caused international hubbub when they dedicated an entire episode to characters wanting and drinking cider and cider is just assumed to be alcoholic everywhere outside North America?

And even then it took until the end of S7 before Hasbro had the show stop using the word. Where The Apple Lies was censored from its broadcast version for this reason, with subsequent releases having "juice" phoned in each time anyone mentioned cider.

Here we assume cider is just that richer flavored apple juice, so yeah. Though honestly, let the ponies drink beer if they want
