Why do people keep complaining about Fluttershy not getting a solo episode? It's not like she got THAT many in the first season. And I think she's been incorporated pretty well into the action for the most part.

Because for some people Fluttershy is their favorite pony and they'd like to see her get some time in the spotlight again? Her bits so far this season have been wonderful but I'd still like to see an episode focused on her since everyone else is getting them.

- Dragonshy
- Stare Master
- Bird in a hoof
- Green isn't your color (co-starring Rarity)

And that's on top of plenty of moments where Fluttershy shined despite not being the focus of an ep (for example - Bridle Gossip, Sonic Rainboom or Best Night Ever).

I dunno, the jury's still out on Applejack. There's an episode coming about her, but from the description there's a good chance she won't actually be in it much.

I think the Applejack episode could cut two ways based on the dsecription. Either she will be missing from a lot of the episode, with her absence being a mystery to the audience, or they'll keep cutting away to wherever she is throughout the ep, making her absence a mystery only to the other 5.

The New Dash episode sounds pretty interesting, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't missing Fluttershy a little bit.

I'd argue that Dragonshy was an ensemble episode, and Bird and the Hoof was a Twilight/Fluttershy episode. All in all there are very few episodes I'd call "solo episodes" (maybe my standards are too tight)

Fluttershy got plenty of face time in season one, but I would have to agree that there hasn't been enough of her this season, even though the scraps of her they've given us have been... nice.

I'm positive the Reading Rainbow (fuck you that's the title now) episode will have a Twilight song about books, this has to be true.

Also I'd really like if the valentines episode had a bit about the whole 'royal wedding' episode too, if only to make it less odd when they go 'oh yea and the third princess, yea she's a thing' at that one.

I'm wondering what exactly Dash is going to do that winds up putting her in the hospital, that girl can usually take some punishment.

Watch it be something completely innocuous, like slipping on a bar of soap or banging her knee on the coffee table.

She stunts so hard she loses most of her feathers. The wings have to be held up "in traction" or else the contour feathers grow back wrong and she'll need to be grounded even longer.

If she's reading all alone in the hospital, I would love it if she imagined the book's story in her head with her as the main character and her friends as some of the supporting ones. Pirate adventures, perhaps? Or maybe something similar to the Odyssey?!

It'll be the pony version of Nancy Drew, with special guest character designs by Kate Beaton.

Well, she's been crushed by a giant rock and divebombed into a building which then exploded from the explosion she made, all while hurting little other than her pride. I'm assuming the only thing that could put her in a hospital is, like, a Tsar Bomb.

That or a bad papercut that got infected. There's just no defense against those.

Pegacitis is a highly contagious pathogen that commonly exists benignly in damp or partially submerged organic matter in wildlands with a high magic concentration.
Infection is rare as most magic wildlands, such as the Everfree Forest, are rarely frequented, and regular incidental exposure to ground microbial life inoculates earth-bound ponies with biological markers that leave the source pathogen Pegacitia Derpuria quiescent.
Pegasi are typically vulnerable, since they frequently spend their formative years above the ground, and Pegacitia's normally benign behavior is altered radically if it is taken from the paradoxical calming influence of wild magic and terrestrial microbia.
Cell division becomes unconstrained and unusually pernicious metabolic and magical waste products pervade the host body. Without additional measures, even normally immune Earth and Unicorn Ponies may be affected if exposed to this virulent life stage.

Once a pony is symptomatic, standard protocol is to isolate her to prevent the infection's spread. Magical treatment and pharmacopia can lead to a full recovery, if done quickly.

I'm kind of sad Rainbow finds the joy of reading. That means she won't spend her time recuperating staring out the back window with a telescope, just certain something bad has happened in the house she's spied on and struggling to prove she's not being paranoid.

Rainbow Dash hadn't found the joy of reading, and so had not studied history. Therefore, she would have been doomed to repeat it, if she hadn't taken up reading. It would've worked, if it hadn't been for that meddling librarian.

More seriously, this show isn't above repeating a trope and it often treats threadbare plot elements in interesting ways, so I didn't see that as a negative.
A bit of paranoia isn't alien to how she's been characterized earlier, such as in season 1 episode 2. Either her or Pinkie have a bit of nervous energy that would fit the role, and Pinkie's already had her paranoid breakdown.

I'm just saying that her characterization so far seems to fit that kind of situation, and the recuperation from an injury/illness presented a similar starting point.
Aside from Pinkie, the other members of the main six seem too reserved, reasonable, or laid back to have a good paranoid episode.
