I have somewhere to be on Saturday, so no synchtube that day. The day after, however, will be painful. Anyone remember the Garbage Pail Kids, the parody of the Cabbage Patch Kids? Well, they somehow made a movie out of it. It's terrible, it's disgusting, and we're going to watch it, starting at 7:00 pm. Before that, we'll watch a short safety video, entitled "Will You Be Here Tomorrow?" wherein a bunch of industrial workers are horrifically maimed at the most dangerous factory in the world.

That movie was truly terrible. If I knew how to work with Photoshop beyond simple gifs I'd totally try and tackle making a cool tag for it but I am too untalented.

Implied offscreen sexual abuse? A society that rounds up the ugly/weird and kills them? The fact that the lady actually made out a little with the kid, which LOOKED an awful lot like statutory rape/borderline pedophilia despite the actors apparently being only a year different in age? Constant streams of piss / snot from two of the characters? Implications of drug dealing that are never, ever mentioned again? The fact that there were at least two too many horribly unfitting songs?

How about the random 80s synth "soundtrack" popping up every time it felt a need to be around, playing the same few chords? Terrible names for characters? Some of the shittiest costumes ever? Plotlines that were kind of handwaved away when required or just weren't resolved at all?

Or just the feel that the entire movie felt like it was vomited up by the 80s?

This Saturday at 5:00 PM CDT, I'll be hosting a synchtube grab bag -- assorted bad stuff and less bad stuff. We'll start off with more terrible animation, showcasing films like A Car's Life and Ratatoing, the latter being especially awful. Then we'll get into the less terrible but equally bizarre Raggedy Ann & Raggedy Andy musical. We'll finish off with Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky, an ultraviolent Hong Kong martial arts flick. I'll be showing the English dub, because it is hilarious. There will be a few Ashens videos too.
