I remember when one of my teachers brought in Lutefisk for one of our culture days in fourth or fifth grade. It smelled so bad that we opened the damn windows.

In December. When it was snowing and 28 degrees F outside.

I can't imagine how something that has almost no taste can smell so bad. I'm not sorry I tried it, and I'd be happy to eat it if I was starving, but I don't think I'd seek it out voluntarily.

Czech Rep., Kdyně. Population around 5000, so if you want anything more than bread and milk, you need to drive yourself to the bigger towns around.
But hey, we got the nature and peace, that's what everyone wants, no? :rainbert:

Hamburg, Germany reporting in, home of the best fish, the Beatles museum and the ugliest opera house ever! I really dig this map, it's awesome.
Three other German goons, huh? I hope we can make that more. :allears:

Hey, you're from Hamburg? I'll be there on vacation soon, do you know any good bars in the city? Something a little bit more classy, American bar style, but not something you need to dress up for.

Maybe the terminology differs from country to country :pinkieshrug:

I just mean not a total pub style dive. Something to sit down and enjoy a cocktail in peace.

Nova Scotia is pretty overlooked when it comes to Canada. Halifax gets some stuff, but that's still a long ass drive away from where I live. I like living in a small town though so I can't exactly complain.

Just put me under Lafayette for school and Indianapolis for home convenience since they're literally a river and short drive away from each other respectively.

I like this thread, except that I see no one else in Oregon. What's up with that? Oregon is great. :-/ General selling points include: Columbia Gorge, plenty of skiing and snowboarding, windsurfing, tons of microbrews, no sales tax, blah blah blah.

I'm in The Dalles right now, which is 1.5~ hours east of Portland. Updated the map to reflect this. Also, Portland may likely be the only city you've heard of in Oregon, although we do have a town called Boring.

(Thanks for maintaining the OP Octavia!)

edit: For anyone who uses Google Earth, be sure to download the KML and check it out, if you haven't already.
