Go Vikings I guess. Not that it matters who comes out of the NFC.

I thought the Vikings were supposed to be good at defense.

Another classic NFC North championship game performance!
The only time a north team has won in the past 10 years there were 2 of them playing each other and someone had to win

Minneapolis is the city with the longest sports drought that has at least 3 of the 4 major sports playing there, right?

No home Super Bowl for me. I was really looking forward to it, since my place of employment is one of the "Founding Sponsors" - I figured we'd really get into things here. Now it's just business as normal, with a little bit of "Rah Rah football" thrown into the mix.

Re: Football: Everyone but Wayoshi hates the Patriots
It probably would've been the most expensive Super Bowl tickets in history if Minnesota played at home.theGECK wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2018 9:53 am

Re: Football: Everyone but Wayoshi hates the Patriots
I looked into the price of box seats a few weeks ago, because I thought that would be fun. $150k and up was the asking price for the Super Bowl.
EDIT: That price has gone up to almost $500k. :O

Re: Football: Everyone but Wayoshi hates the Patriots
Everyone I've ever talked to that's been to the Super Bowl said it was a terrible experience. You're not gonna have a good view unless you pay a ridiculous amount of money, then you've gotta pay even more for parking, food, drinks, etc. Everyone swarms on the stadium, so getting there is always a nightmare, especially in a place like Minneapolis where a blizzard is a possibility. You can't see any of the awesome commercials and are forced to sit through all the dumb pageantry on the field during commercial breaks.
You'll have a much better time at a Super Bowl party with your friends and a big ol TV.

I've lost most interest I had to go to a Football game. Give me a TV and a couch.

Re: Football: Everyone but Wayoshi hates the Patriots
I think that advice works for all football games. I went to one, once, when they needed to fill seats a few years ago and did a discounted BOGO offer. I wouldn't go back, although it was interesting to see how involved the cheerleaders are during a game. You don't really see them on TV.
Oh well, there's always next year. Go Pats!

Re: Football: Everyone but Wayoshi hates the Patriots
I've got a friend with extremely good season tickets to the Bears (25-yard line, 10th row) but he has a hard time even giving them away. Sitting still out in the open in sub-freezing temperatures is not fun.

I was impressed at Jeffery's run to the 34 yard line, let alone receiving Foles' throw for the touchdown

The Patriots ALWAYS come back and win, so we're just enjoying it before the inevitable happens.West Filly wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2018 7:32 pmI do get the feeling the Patriots are saving their energy for the final quarter
