Oooh, I love those weird commercials!
That "Too Much Coffee Man" commercial was also animated by the "Ed, Edd n Eddy" guy. It's based on a comic strip that runs in the 'States

Re: PYF marketing silliness
Okay, so I saw this commercial for an amusement park in Canada, featuring Garfield:
I'm having questions about the animation. Early on, we see Garfield gobbling down food. That's in-character, fine, but look closely:
Where is he getting the food? Did the animator forget to draw a box of food next to him?
It's one thing if they did this once, but they did this again:
And AGAIN, but this time with Nermal:
Is there a portal to another dimension where they store food? And it can only be opened at this particular amusement park?
The Garfield lore is weird.

Re: PYF marketing silliness
The animation is on cycles, meaning that it looks like Garfield and Nermal are eating the same food over and over again
Perhaps Garfield is the true master of the Reality Stone, and this is what he seeks to do with it: generate food from nothing

While I don't particularly care for the product, I was always a fan of the Orlando Jones "Make 7 Up Yours" commercials.
Good times.

Saw this in the grocery store today. I'm just glad I won't need to buy an adapter in order to make it.

This one's at a weird angle but the reflection isn't on the bunny so it might be better for getting an avatar from?

pretending to be centrist is the most corporation-y thing you can do to minimize the risk of bad PR from one side or the other
in actuality i don't think there are many corporations that wouldn't buy every vote they can afford pertaining to their ability to make money
e: pretending to be an underdog on the other hand is truly perplexing. i wonder how many people actually think they're sticking it to the man when they buy a product as recognized as MONSTE® ENE®GY

I know I shared these before, but screw it, it needs to be posted in this thread. Early commercials by Jim Henson for a regional coffee brand:
"Buy our product or we'll kill you" is certainly a marketing campaign

I legit like those old Jim Henson commercials. Here's one he did featuring an inconsiderate dragon.
Anyone notice that Jim Henson's commercials tend to feature a spokescreature intimidating others to buy the product, whether it's proto-Kermit or a dragon?

Stop-motion animator Will Vinton passed away at age 70. In his honor, here's a collection of commercials Vinton made featuring The Noid.

Re: PYF marketing silliness
And they made a video game about him, called Yo! Noid. It's about what you'd expect from a licensed game in the late '80s. But last year, some crazy mofos made a fan sequel that's supposed to look like a PlayStation game. I didn't realize until I watched this, the hub level (the "Noid Void") is based on that wide-open landscape that he lives in. It even has the pyramid.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking isn't thinking of...

A series of Japanese tokusatsu commercials for vacuum cleaners (done by Tsuburaya Production, the company that did "Ultraman" and other related shows), where a costumed superhero defeats a Godzilla-expy (called "Gomira", "gomi" meaning "garbage") by literally vacuuming them up.

I remember seeing this commercial as a kid back in 1999. I think this was my introduction to the BeeGees.
The editing in this commercial is amazing.

Now I'm confused because I don't think I know what PIN numbers you're talking about (because I'm too young?), but I know about the "10-10 numbers" they're referring to. They're referenced in this article from 20 years ago: https://money.cnn.com/1999/06/10/life/q_1010numbers/SlateSlabrock wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 2:39 am"Every night you can call all night at the time that's best for you without having to dial all those extra PIN numbers."

Re: PYF marketing silliness
I'm guessing it referred to prepaid phone cards you could buy that were usually cheaper than the usual rates. To use them you had to call an 800 number on the back of a card, navigate a brief menu, enter a PIN off the back of the card, then dial the number you actually wanted to call. If you talked a lot during the day on weekdays and/or long distance then they helped, but it was annoying to do all that only to possibly get someone's answering machine or just not have the person on the other end pick up.
Next time I go to the grocery store I'll have to stop at the gift card display and see if you can still get those things.

Milkshake Candy Bar was apparently a thing back in the 1970s, and I kinda wish it's still around.
Although somebody commented on a Facebook group for old commercials that he bought one back then. He said it was delicious, but he "got a bellyache later".
Another commercial for a different candy the same company put out.
