I'm really behind when it comes to watching movies in theaters. The last one I saw before "Spider-Verse" was "Zootopia", I think, which came out 2 years ago.
Star Wars Episode 8 was the last movie I saw in theaters. With how expensive they've gotten, there's really no incentive to see a movie in theaters unless it's something really special. A month of Netflix costs less than a single movie ticket.

I like treating cinema movies as a special treat so that works, and I do have to say that a proper cinema experience is nicer than my movie setup at home, but I imagine the nicer your setup is the less important a cinema experience becomes

For the first time, I applied to be a vendor at a furry convention. I'm officially in that rabbit hole
(in all seriousness, I hope I get in)
Good luck!

Me: Hey, my brain, I'm gonna wind down for the night. You gonna keep the bullshit at a minimum this time?
Brain: HEY I JUST WROTE AN OPENING NUMBER FOR A BIOSHOCK MUSICAL WANNA HEAR IT
Me: No, I—
Brain: GOOD EVENING, RAPTURE, YOU'RE LOOKING SWELL TONIGHT
THE STREETS ARE LIT UP, IN GORGEROUS BLUE AND WHITE
Me: It's well past midnight. Can you not?
Brain: IT'S WELL PAST MIDNIGHT, BUT IT'S CLOCK-IN TIME FOR ME
THERE IS NO GRAVEYARD SHIFT WHEN WE'VE ALL BEEN BURIED AT SEA
Me: Unbelievable. Hello, police? I'd like to report a disturbance...
Brain: SOME FOLKS SAY PHOOEY, THIS CITY IS A MESS
BUT THEY'RE JUST JEALOUS OF ALL OF OUR SUCCESS
THAT'S BUSINESS, BABY! DON'T TELL ME IT'S UNFAIR
IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT HERE YOU DON'T DESERVE! TO! MAKE IT ANYWHEEEEEEEERE!

Here's some of the musicals I need to write:
LotR the Musical:
"We're the orcs, we used to be elves
But Sauron came and turned us into ourselves
And now we have to go and kill all these guys
I wish I could just rest and have some tasty meat pies
Aragorn: The orcs, they must fall!
Gimli: I'll kill them all!
Legolas: I am very tall
Frodo (in falsetto) And I am very small!"
Night of the Living Musical Dead:
I don't have any lyrics other than "ONE! ...BITE IS HOW THEY GET YA, GOTTA SHOOT 'EM IN THE HEAD. ONE! ...BITE IS ALL TAKES YEAH, THEN YOU SURELY BE DEAD!" And then for the finale there's a zombie kickline complete with limbs flying into the audience and everyone is chased out of the theater by shambling zombie actors.
I've thought a lot about these sorts of things too.

I made something for a friend who receives their doctor's degree very soon.
In Germany it's custom to create a "doctor's hat" with random personal junk attached to that when a person receives their doctor's degree.
My friends and I intend to decorate the hat with stuff from past D&D campaigns. In such a campaign we encountered a duckbunny
and their character kept it as pet (later it turned out that the duckbunny had some demonic properties but it's mostly forgotten now).
I took the Stanford Bunny (a standard model in the computer graphics science field) and attached a duck beak on it and 3d printed that in brown ABS plastic (the same kind of plastic LEGO bricks are made of). I want to paint it later so the color is pretty much irrelevant. However in this state the brown plastic looks like chocolate.

I just dreamed that I was watching a video about an unnamed Super Mario 64 ROM hack. It starts out like a pretty typical platformer of the time but with a focus on enemies rather than platforming challenges, as well as ramping up the difficulty quickly. It also doubles down on the spoopy content in the late game, culminating in "the infamous level 8", which the voiceover mentions only briefly over footage showing Mario walking through a tunnel/corridor in almost complete darkness with only a puddle of light immediately surrounding him to guide the player along the way. In my dream I decided to look up more info about this hack, and as I suspected, level 8 is one of those levels designed to scare the crap out of you despite having no enemies.

Sounds fun, imo. I like that the culmination is in a slow burn atmospheric level instead of like, jumpscares. That's neat!

I don't think that's how the rabbit-duck illusion is supposed to go

It's a pretty nifty and stylish show, though I do feel it struggles with finding its tone and identity. Sometimes it fully embraces 90s cartoon tropes, sometimes it really wants to be a modern and smart show, and I found it really didn't blend those two well at times. Some of the more tired cartoon jokes fall under that, like having a basically entirely straight played Japanese stereotype man (complete with Overwach's Hanzo voicing him). Also hoping the side characters get some more development, especially Carmen's buddies, I feel like we know basically nothing about them beyond some very basic character beats.
Also, whoever thought that having Charlet Chung do an awkward British accent was a good idea needs a slap on the head
Generally a nice show otherwise, though. I really do hope it fits a more stable footing because when it's good, it really is quite fun and has a great sense of adventure.

Today's "Phoebe and Her Unicorn". This might be the first time a non-binary character appeared in a newspaper comic, ever.

Also, I tried posting that comic on the PPPP Discord, but they auto-blocked it because the bot deemed it "explicit content"
