Snoopy has arguably always been bigger in Japan than even in the US. You can even get a Snoopy & Woodstock themed transformer, all sorts of Snoopy toys and plushies, translated strip collections, clothes, etc.

There is definitely a demand for Snoopy, at least

No joke, I remember Snoopy being EVERYWHERE in Japan. I had a Snoopy doll given to me once as a birthday present. They had their own line of cereals there, even getting Bill Melendez to make the commercials for them:

Yeah when I was in Japan a few years ago I went in a mall that had a store selling nothing but peanuts merchandise
