Did you think this was a thread about pumpkin spice everything? If so, I understand, friend, pumpkin spice is quite the whimsical touch to everything from lattes to Cheerios and I have been known to enjoy a bit of it myself, but no

this thread is about motherfucking candy corn and mellowcreme pumpkins

Image

i mean you can also use it to post about your favorite halloween and/or autumn food items, whatever, I'm not the festive food police

Regular candy corn is delicious and so are those pumpkins, but I never especially liked the candy corn that has those brown bits. :pinkieshrug:

Candy corn is so controversial, I never thought I would see anyone on earth share my exact opinion: Pumpkins good, regular candy corn good, The Brown Ones– resounding meh.

I think it’s becasue they have that artificial chocolate flavor. That stuff is pretty gross.

Candy corn rules and I never knew the brown ones were supposed to be chocolate, they taste exactly the same to me. :pinkieshrug:

Anyway candy corn is my “eat till I get sick like a goddamned dog with no willpower” snack, which is why it’s a once a year thing

Candy Corn is like Cadbury Creme eggs. Good once a year, but terrible any more often than that.

I'd eat it 24/7/365 if people would let me. :plonk:

I've heard there are Halloween-themed Cadbury "Scream" Eggs but I have literally never seen them in stores. Maybe it's for the best.

It’s me, I’m the monster who hates candy corn :spoiler:

Although I think the people who call it “the worst candy ever” are indulging in hyperbole. I’ve eaten things I disliked way more than candy corn, it’s just that it’s too sweet for me. My jam is dark chocolate (not literally, although chocolate jam would probably be more like Nutella without the hazelnuts)

I’ve had one. Definitely too sweet to have more than once a year, just like the Easter ones.

I'm 100% certain that's how Candy Corn is made. Anyone who says otherwise are lying :-I

Speaking of chocolate jam, I like Bosco

(I don't care if it's actually chocolate syrup :-I )

Replace the wax with even more sugar, I think. :ponder:

I looked up and based on what I found (mostly just a glance at Wikipedia), it's sugar, corn syrup (i.e. more sugar), confectioner's wax, fondant (even more sugar and some gelatin and stuff), and marshmallows (yet another thing with sugar in it).

some of them use honey in there, i think instead of the corn syrup. brach's makes a big deal out of using honey so i guess maybe the corn syrup might be used by the shittier brands (not that brach's is super upscale or anything but you know what i mean)

Candy corn is good. Nutella is great. Dark chocolate is also great. That said I once tried 99% chocolate and it was flavorful but I wouldn't do it again. I assume it's supposed to be an ingredient and not just eaten straight.

That said, gross.

Yeah, 99% cocoa chocolate is just for cooking. Anything above 78% is too strong for me.

I had a chocolate-coated coffee bean once. That was interesting but I don’t think I’ll do that again either.
