Looking forward to seeing if the show can recover from Moffat.

I really enjoyed Tennant's stuff and slowly lost interest somewhere in the middle of Smith. I briefly caught Capaldi's doctor, and I liked the characterisation but the plots I saw at the start of his run weren't enough to bring me back in.

I don't know if I liked Tennant specifically or if I was just in the right part of my life for him at that age.

My plan for Whittaker is to see what the response is from the nerds I know. The thing is that I missed all of Capaldi's stuff so IDK how easy it'll be to get back into.

New Doctor and new companions, I think you could jump in with Whittaker and not miss a beat.

I think Capaldi had a good run, should you ever get back to it. Brilliant at time, and I don't think it ever hit the lows that sometimes happened during Tennant and Smith's runs.

My Doctor Who phase occurred in about the 2nd quarter of my pony phase. Pony phase kinda eclipses it. :v:

Imagine trying to call out Neil Gaiman, who wrote a few episode of Dr. Who.

I'm very pleased to see a woman in Doctor who which doesn't fit the dominatrix or sexy secretary role.

Not too long ago the Comicsgate idiots tried to argue with Gaiman about what his work history is. He seems to attract idiots like that :-I

All I can think of the new TARDIS is, "Those spider legs must be a huge pain to film around."

capaldi's run lost me very early on because it seemed just more of a continuation of the Smith run of issues where no story could have a clear, conclusive ending. Gotta leave in some sorta hanging thing about "omg look how angry the doctor is" without any, ya know, actual development happening. Just, check the next episode, maybe it'll deal with it.

Today's episode was really good, and went back to Doctor Who's original roots.

Teaching people about history by having the Doctor interact with historical icons.

The Doctor met Rosa Parks, and the episode walked a very fine line with giving the Doctor something to do, but not making her or her companions influence her. They didn't inspire her to do what she did or anything like that.

Bump because the new season is back and is pretty great.

We also got this.

She says she's The Doctor, and scans confirm they're the same person, but one of them should be able to remember the other from their past and they can't.
