Hey perpetual motion
Squirrels are pretty rad, right? Your fursona is a flying squirrel, right?
This is Squirrel Girl. She has the proportional strength and speed of a squirrel.
also she can talk to squirrels!
She beat up Thanos
and she and her squirrel friends beat Doctor Doom...
...more than once
She’s had to struggle with herself too
Also she loves computers and programming and is a comp sci major!
But she never gives up on herself or her friends
No matter how bad things get, she finds a way to get through it. And she even tries to help her enemies.
That’s the real reason why she’s the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: she never gives up, even when things suck. And they can suck super hard, and they can make you unhappy, and they can make you feel like everything is hopeless, and that it isn’t worth trying anymore.

So yeah. This is Sqiurrel Girl. She’s super rad, just like you.

I'm not nearly cool enough to be compared to Squirrel Girl, but I appreciate the sentiment. Thanks

Re: Hey perpetual motion
So basically she was created as a middle finger to nerds who complain about "Mary Sues" before the term "Mary Sue" was even invented.

Re: Hey perpetual motion
I can only say that I like only the Squirrel Girl from Ryan North's run. Any other Squirrel Girl interpretation was dumb.
New Avengers, U.S. Avengers, Marvel Rising (the episodes on youtube) make her look as someone without a brain and that makes me sad.
I feel that Ryan North is the only one who gets the fine line between silliness and intelligence.

Close - she was created to push back against the trend in the 90's where comics started getting all dark and grim and gritty and edgy. She's a throwback to the Silver Age, when superhero comics were allowed to occasionally be goofy and silly and lighthearted.

I was gonna get mad at you but then I realized "Ryan North" is the name of the writer of the current incarnation.Adiwan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 15, 2018 1:39 pmI can only say that I like only the Squirrel Girl from Ryan North's run. Any other Squirrel Girl interpretation was dumb.

Look at this scrub who doesn't have encyclopedic knowledge of the works of Ryan North. [emoji]

Re: Hey perpetual motion
His Adventure Time run was superb! There he used the comments at the bottom of the page very extensively and continues that in Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.
