I'm not sure what's dumber of me: that I missed that this particular child was the offspring of Brad and Sunset and not one of the many Brad/Twilight children, or that I missed "afterglow" apparently being a sex word.

Yeah the squicky aspect of a lot of this transformation fetish art, for me, is that it's nonconsensual and unwanted. Like I can sort of parse wanting to give up control over your form as a sort of extreme BDSM, but wanting it to happen to random people who aren't cool with it on any level is, at best, the sort of kink you need to eye extremely carefully.

On the other hand, if they made and advertised socks that turned people into their sonas, I'd totally use them, but they'd just be a means to an end

What bothers me about it is that it's effectively erasing someone's status as a unique person. IRL you can't really do that by means other than murder, but if you could force someone else to permanently (or even temporarily, for a long enough time) take on the full appearance of someone else, all of society would reasonably see and treat your victim as that other person. Your victim's friends and loved ones might eventually come around, assuming you at least had the mercy to use a transformation into something pleasant-looking; otherwise, I think we need look no further than what happened to poor ol' Gregor Samsa.

Modify yourself if you want, but don't change others without their permission (and think long and hard before changing someone into a non-person, even given that person's consent). That's how I see it. It's not an ethical issue any of us are ever likely to face IRL, but in the world of art it's something to consider.

It's also GROSS and WEIRD!

With all that said, perhaps we should get back on track. This discussion on the ethics of changing yourself vs. others reminds me of something, actually...

I was in this Discord conversation about a month ago. Most of the other people in the chat thought it'd be nice to have extra pairs of arms, but I didn't (and still don't) want any more. I feel clumsy enough as it is, so having any more would be just that much more to cause a mess with.

If I can make a dumb joke out of something, though, then despite my misgivings I'll sometimes do it for that.

the fantasy version of multi does tend to have people being extraordinarily co-ordinated in every extra arm/leg, but yeah, that would be unlikely for most tasks

still for simpler things like carrying way too much down the stairs i'd still go for it

I'd say that being a unicorn would be the easiest way to do this, but considering that we've seen unicorns struggle to use magic to accomplish tasks of strength as basic as opening a jar, maybe there's no guarantee that'd be more useful.
