Unpopular opinion: I think loss jokes are overused, so I relate to this comic :-I

Oh, I noticed. The meta-humor of being tired of loss while also being loss made it funny for me

I'm so ironic. So hip, I am :crack: :v:

I figured it would be better to comment on that rather than the Millar tweet because then I’d just be grumbling about how edgy his work tends to be :v:

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Millar's work, either. He contributed to a lot of what I dislike about dark and edgy "mainstream" comic books.

With that said, I found that babysitting story to be hilarious on its own. If Millar ever decided to turn that story into a comic, it might actually be worth reading.

Wasn't Millar the dude who was essentially kidnapped for a weekend because he thought he was doing a convention but it ended up being some dude's house because he and his friends were superfans of his?

the car is a pretty private place and if someone is driving you across a pretty calm, long stretch of road it's just neat and soothing

I fall asleep inside a car all the time. It IS nice and relaxing, especially if it's a long stretch.

Don't be like me and fall asleep while DRIVING it, though :-I That almost happened to me when I drove through panhandle Texas. There really is nothing there for miles.

The closet I came to falling asleep at the wheel was on I-80 through Nebraska at 4am. Pitch black, flat, and a whole lot of nothing.

I've also been through the panhandle of Texas on I-40 and that's the most boring stretch of straight flat road, with the exception of the 5-mile stretch when you can smell the slaughterhouse. :bluh:

I found that the best stimulant for staying awake during that drive was to eat potato chips. Not sure why, but they kept me awake long enough to get out of that region.

I-80 through Nebraska was the worst drive I’ve ever had to make, and I did it in the daytime. 455 miles of unvarying terrain.

Montana and the tiny bit of Idaho we went through were my favorite places, scenery-wise.

No wait Missouri was boring after we left St. Louis. That almost knocked me out.

I didn’t like Ohio, either, but that’s mostly because the trip took us through Cleveland during morning rush hour and I was convinced I was going to die at any second

My worst driving experience was when I was in California for a month. I decided to visit a friend, who lived in downtown LA. Big mistake. While I've gotten the hang of driving in North Hollywood and Burbank, downtown LA really is bumper to bumper with cars, and it's super hard to find a parking space. Ultimately had to go to a nearby parking garage (thankfully it was during the evening, when the rates were cheaper).

To me it seems like a pretty standard dark humor gag, but my sense of humor is skewed that way these days :sheepish:

Like it wasn’t really much different than this

Just maybe a little more sophisticated with its gag setup

The NFB short “Special Delivery” is much more twisted and could never be linked here in a million years (and I laughed at it :-I )

In conclusion, animation is a land of contrasts and bauxite exports
