No I didn't report it because I don't read the furry thread and just came across it once Octavia posted about it.

It wasn't through an arcane series of photographs, it was a link to the post which still had that cute li'l ! above it. This isn't like something awful where there are a lot of weird and horseshit reports to file through. You don't have to be a thread regular to report something.

I dunno why he didn't report it, but I guess the answer is because everyone knows he doesn't like it one bit and the mods wouldn't take it seriously anyway.

And posting about it in an entirely different thread and never bothering to report at all it is a better plan?

I don't read the furry thread so I have no interest in reporting shit the fucking global moderator thought was okay (as implied by the follow up post to the original furry image, I'm not even gonna quote it or nuthin' cos I believe in you and your ability to look it up for yourself) that I first came across at 9pm or fuckin' whatever on a Friday night.

I don't particularly also fuckin' care for what Octavia is doing. My guess is, being a dick about it for no particular reason because he's pissy about furries being allowed on the forums still, idk. Either way it really doesn't concern me. I do know that if he reported it, it'd just quietly be ignored because it was obviously already approved of. I also know it ain't forums appropriate.

Also, and I repeat myself, but seriously stop pretending you're a moderator. You are not. Unlike last time, you don't even have a magical username color anymore. So please, for the sake of not annoying the rest of us, stop trying to play that card when disagreeing with other people over forums policy. Because conscious or not, that is exactly what you are trying to do with this conversation. And it is not only really stupid but also kinda sad.

mods being dumbos/humans too and not looking at a post properly does not equal 100% approval, neither is it a bad idea to ask a mod to re-evaluate something if you felt they let something inappropriate slide; also, one mod can think something is okay and another might not, so that's another reason to report it and ask for them to look properly

I'll say it again: Please report stuff that you think isn't okay.

The issue with a line beyond "don't post too suggestive shit" is that some degree of subjectivity is unavoidable; unless we wanna write a full-on catalogue that covers all possible kinds of potentially suggestive elements, and even then the specific way they are drawn/framed/done/what have you will vary. Art is subjective, and so are mod takes on situations. It's to a degree unavoidable, and to be honest we also don't wanna smack everyone in the face with a ton of rules when 99% of the time, "use common sense" works out just fine. The remaining 1%, again, can and will be subjective and it seriously does help if you report. Heck, even if you are unsure, report anyway. If mods feel a report doesn't warrant action for whatever reason, they can still close it and go on their merry way. But a report asks us to re-evaluate a post we might not have given enough attention the first go around, and that is seriously helpful. You are not a jerk for reporting. Please, report. (and if you take issue with how a report was handled, PM or post in DPC, that is also very much okay)

I'm sorry I started aggressive, it just seems like people avoid the report button like there's reversal of fortune rules, or something. And I still care even without a fancy colored name because I don't like the posts that come from it.

I can tell you that I've personally glossed over things only to reevaluate them after a report came in, both as the fanfiction moderator and back when I argued way too long about bronibooru images. No doubt other moderators have too.

Right, well, that is all a good sentiment, but I cannot help but notice that the furry posterior (and arguable pubic hair) is still on the forums. This is one instance where I do believe a strong line is needed, because (rules lawyering aside) I do feel an obviously defined butt is pushing on the line of good taste, and it does kinda set policy for the future: assuming that is okay, what would happen if I were to post a naked butt held be an obviously female, anthropomorphic animal? Are butts of obviously nonhuman animals okay to post in the future?

I didn't report either the Trixie/Glimmer one or the furry one because I personally didn't think either was over the line. But when we got a lecturing over the Trixie/Glimmer one that I felt was a lot less questionable, I pointed out the much more questionable one and wondered why it didn't get the same treatment.

Also just because I spam-posted terrible fursuits in the original Furry thread doesn't mean I'm pissy about furries being allowed on the forums. Keep doing your thing, furries. You be you.
