Actually I think I'd happily die on the spot if it meant hearing that song live once soRIP Syndrome wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 9:27 pmI'm pretty sure I'd give up various internal organs to see that song played live
You have a much higher range than I. I'd have to falsetto that entire song.West Filly wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 9:32 pmI actually have a "go to" song for karaoke nights. It's relevant, too.
I Believe In A Thing Called Love - The Darkness
I accept mod judgement but I thought it was an homage to Tonya Chalkin's The Kiss and other images from the same shoot and thought that was neat.Fizzbuzz wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 8:30 amHey, so, as I see it this one's really damn on-the-line in terms of acceptability, enough to where I don't think I can just let it slide. Between the way they're styled and the way they're lying together, I'm pretty sure this isn't something you'd want your boss or your grandmother to see you looking at.
because the character in question isn't femaleRIP Syndrome wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 2:17 pmlmao that pic even has pubic hair on it what the fuck

I did pause on it, and I guess I should've paid more attention to that. Sorry, everyone.
also good and smart postJill wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 6:01 amspecifically because a woman displaying some form of nudity or sexuality (read: a butt) is far less socially acceptable and can't be written off as something comedic like say, the entirety of I.R. Baboon can. it's just automatically going into that "shit, it's the male gaze again" bin
That's a part of it, but more of it is that in the startrix picture they have overtly arched backs, to emphasize the posteriors, and crossed legs, to create an impression of... let's call it "physical intimacy" and leave it at that. The forward legs also serve to create a line that can be read as my ape brain as a butt. Their stomachs are in full contact. It's also full-body shots meaning the center of the image is in the... "physical intimacy." All the kinetic energy of the composition leads toward it.
I wasn't advocating like a blanket ban on stuff, only trying to deconstruct this particular image by comparing it to othersWest Filly wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 10:54 pmMy theory: it pushed a button and now we're trying to rationalise what the button is when, while some good points are raised, it's mostly just that "nope" feeling. We can lay down some general rules as to what would push that button, but some things that meet the criteria will probably not push it and some things that don't will still set it off.
It's art. It's not hard and fast.
alright so, report it if you feel it trips the HR alarm, otherwise #shipping on broni is guaranteed p much clean if you wanna look at cute pics during work with no headacheThe Ghost of Ember wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2018 1:21 ammy concern is when my employers HR department decides to get iffy, not when WASP prudishness is impinged upon. both kiss and pony lesbian bait kiss would probably ping on my HR departments radar, regardless of their relative artistic merit.
All ships are good, but hetero ships are less good and more boringStrangething wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 10:58 pmSo, which of these are good ships, and which are bad and wrong?

tbh i was fine with it being behind a spoiler and i appreciated you spoiling it because it was questionable.
1) Good, but "It's not shipping if it's canon"Strangething wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 10:58 pmSo, which of these are good ships, and which are bad and wrong?
