Actually, speaking of sonas and platformer franchises that I never was a fan of, maybe I should wait for a Rayman game with an OC creator on account of me thinking my ponysona as styled in my current av looks cool/cute?

Re: πΊπ½ furry thread 2: reminder the correct pronunciation of gif is "yiff"
I found some money and splurged on Sonic Forces. I'm having a weird amount of fun only occasionally progressing the story and replaying a bunch of stuff for new outfits.
I'm finding it a little difficult making my OC a cool punk with the mandatory weird skintight bodysuits, but I'm still having fun with it. Makes me wish I had a bunch of cute clothes in my wardrobe to try on irl, honestly.

Some of the bodysuits make for good enough shirts, so you can combine those nicely for some cool outfits. (yours look great!)
My biggest problem is that the "body" slot encompasses so much stuff, I wish they had seperated "body" and "accessories" or something. A scarf and a dress should not be using the same slot.

Re: πΊπ½ furry thread 2: reminder the correct pronunciation of gif is "yiff"
Yeah, that's a big problem with the OC creator, alongside having no additional character slots until you beat the game, and there being little reason to pick anything other than birb.
I rarely trade in games, but I don't regret trading Sonic Forces in - I had absolutely negative desire to ever go near the Switch version again by the end of it. The PC version will probably be bundled by this time next year, so I can revisit it then and see if the better visuals/responsiveness encourage me to go for everything.
It's fun, but I don't necessarily agree with the upper tier of 3D Sonics part - Forces has some pretty bad level design. Not in the sense of "boost into lots of insta-death traps"*, but it feels arbitrary and chaotic, with little of the thought or flow that was in Generations. All the slower 2D bits feel much less fluid than they did in previous games - though granted, I was playing the Switch version, so perhaps that feels different on versions with the full framerate.Perrydotto wrote: βSun Nov 12, 2017 6:39 pmRealtalk, the game is genuinely quite fun and definitely in the upper tier of 3D Sonics, it's just regrettably kinda short and thus I really have a hard time saying whether I recommend it or not; I'm enjoying myself quite a lot with it, love the dressup and enjoy replaying the levels for better ranks/times, but if you don't like replaying the 40 dollar asking price is not great value

Here's an article about some movie called Pottersville that probably no one will watch.
I don't know why I love this quip so much.Hands down and without question, the most puzzling, disturbing sequence of the film is the one early on, when Maynard decides to come home early to surprise his wife, only to find her in flagrante delicto. The unexpected part is that sheβs wearing a bunny costume, and her man-piece is sporting a wolf getup. The really unexpected part hits when they pop off their heads and reveal that Christina Hendricks and Ron Perlman both agreed to be in this film.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking isn't thinking of...

Yeah I dunno, Forces did not feel considerably worse than Generations to me. I agree with Generations being overall better, but it also had more levels I can recall finding annoying, so I guess it balances out?

Also the birb is not really all that good, since the double jump is fairly inconsequential
I just like birb because birb

Also, if there were a Sonic/MLP crossover, would that game be called Sonic Horses?

There needs to be a furry parody of Talking Heads' Life During Wartime where these lines are changed to be about fursonas:

Re: πΊπ½ furry thread 2: reminder the correct pronunciation of gif is "yiff"
This post ended up on my dashboard again, and I thought it was worth sharing.
I won't lie, there were times where I wanted to stop drawing cat stuff because I felt I was going to be lumped in the "furry" box among comic readers, and not as a "real" comic creator. Others (including some in this forum) pretty much had to talk me out of it, which I ultimately did.

i can kind of understand the whole "furry pride" thing from the perspective of someone whose work gets panned on the basis of having any appeal to furries. if there is any denomination of people who don't understand something then there is also a denomination of those people who choose to act shitty about it
my take is that even if you have proof that the vast majority of furry art is perverse wank materal: big fucking deal

In this case I think it's not just a lack of understanding, but more of a popular misunderstanding that furries are only into it for sexual reasons. Combine that with typical American sex-shaming attitudes and you get the assumption that people interested in anything furry are all horrible sexual deviants. It's a horrible attitude, but it's there.Jill wrote: βMon Nov 20, 2017 3:02 ami can kind of understand the whole "furry pride" thing from the perspective of someone whose work gets panned on the basis of having any appeal to furries. if there is any denomination of people who don't understand something then there is also a denomination of those people who choose to act shitty about it
I admit that this is something I've worried about in the past and that still lingers on my mind today. Even within our fandom, and even though I do not care for anything violent or pornographic, I wonder how many people still assume the worst of me on account of me liking anthro ponies better than normal ponies. No one (at least, no one who didn't get banned from TRS) has ever said they're bothered by my preferences as such, but I can't tell how many people genuinely tolerate me and how many hate me but are just too polite to say so.

I guess I'm mostly just afraid of that ever happening again. I know that it's highly irrational to put myself down just for the sake of haters who certainly haven't said anything and who might not even exist, but still it weighs on me.
