You know what? Dril was right. There really is no difference between good and bad things. Taste is all subjective. Opinions don't mean a damn thing to anyone except the people who have them. The only reason a piece of media deserves criticism is if it's actually hurtful to somebody. If it's, as the kids say, problematic. And there's seemingly no bottom to that well these days, so why get hung up on aesthetics and shit?
If someone has "good taste", that just means they hate more things than most people do. That they can't enjoy things that other people enjoy. People like that should be pitied, because they'll never get as much out of life.
Like, we talk a big game about wanting to build people up and encourage them to be creative, but as soon as someone who's not a member of this forum makes a thing and it doesn't live up to our standards, we eviscerate them for it. We make whole threads dedicated to pointing and laughing at them. And most of us still proudly identify with Something Awful, a site that's based entirely around that, and is even more merciless about it. We've got a lot to answer for. I myself had been toying with the idea of becoming a YouTube critic. I can't hardly imagine a more worthless thing I could be doing with my life.

This is where you're probably expecting to see a "punchline" like me singling out some relatively harmless easy target as an arbitrary exception.

Anyway, enjoy your Friday.
I've only seen that tweet posted in response to tumblr discussions of politics/morality so that's how I always thought of it
A spectre is haunting Europe — the spectre of communism.
it's really for the best to accept things as they are. the Earth is round, the sun sets in whatever arbitrary direction it does and Tailspin's posts are bad

To throw my hat in the ring about making fun of garbage:
One of the reasons we don't post as much about bad fanfics on fimfiction is due to 1.) The site having slightly stricter standards than it did back in, say, 2012 2.) A lot of the really bad writers from then have become better through sheer attrition
Hence why it's all the more hilarious when we find some fic that's particularly vile or creepy, as was the case for TWILIGHT SPARKLE: SECRET BABY.
I always try to be punctual and if I'm late I do my best to communicate. Today I missed a train, the next train I wanted to take didn't go so I ended up being an hour later than the time I was supposed to meet up with a friend.
I arrive and he informs me he still needs to eat lunch
This is not the first time this has happened, not the fourth
