Pretty impressive feat as he's always in demand for Trek cons and I can't imagine Bronycon is able to offer much in the way of payment of guests by comparison.

This'll be kinda hilarious, since I get the impression Lauren didn't really even interact with him much directly (Jayson certainly didn't)—the voice recording was done mostly remotely. This'll be as crazy a little (re)union for the two of them as it is for the rest of us!

I have to come up with -something- to go. There's no way this is going to happen a second time.

There's no doubt in my mind I could -afford- it with some budgeting, but the travel arrangements are the tricky part. Shan can't do long roadtrips, and I can't drive. It'd be best if I could fly there, and then hook up with some friends to carpool from the hotel TO the con or something, since I think taking taxis to and fro would probably break the budget (or make it pretty tight).

Credit where it's due: this means BroNYCon January was a huge coup for PT and pony fandom in general. Word has evidently gotten out that this fandom knows how to handle itself and it's a fine thing for VAs and the like to engage with.

I'm actually feeling considerably proud right now.

What I like is, this guy is too jaded to be weirded out by the weirdos. I expect to see photos of Lauren Faust wearing a frozen half-smile of polite horror with De Lancie sitting next to her with a genuine grin, while some guy in an elaborate Cheerilee costume and some other guy in an Apple Bloom costume fight each other with color-coordinated lightsabers. Or, I don't know, something.

There's NJ Transit busses that drops off right in front of the new venue and multiple nice hotels within a block or two of same.

If you fly into JFK you can take the Air Train to Jamaica Station, then get on the uptown E train to go to the Port Authority Transit Hub, one stop after Penn Station. The 320 bus from the PATH drops off directly in front of the venue.

If you fly into Newark you can take the the NJT one stop north from the airport station to Newark Penn Station, then catch bus 78 which also drops off right in front of the venue.

I was trying to figure out what to do with my vacation time, think this sold me for bronycon. Although I think I'll just spend a week in new york, assuming I can afford it. Do some touristing.
