Hello and welcome to speculation theater. This thread will be for discussing what you think MIGHT happen in upcoming episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Actual spoilers should go in the spoiler thread. If you want to avoid any and all things about upcoming episodes, then you will want to avoid this thread as episode descriptions can and will be posted when they become available.
Mods will be watching this one to make sure people are not purposely posting spoilers, so behave yourself.

Next episode: "It's About Time" March 10, 2012
Twilight believes something bad will happen to her after receiving a warning from her future self.

Blatant shout out to the fans would be a Dr. Who reference. I want to see them do a "Back to the Future" thing or better yet, a "Sound of Thunder" thing. Not a full-bore homage episode mind you, just a subtle hint at something like that.

As for the ponies themselves, I am looking forward to a Twi episode. She's so spazzy and fun :-/

I'm pretty interested to see if there will be an appearance of an older, different-looking Twilight, or just a clone of current Twilight, or if there won't be any visual appearance of future-Twilight at all. Hoping for the former because it could be pretty neat to see what direction they go with it, but expecting the latter because it's the easiest way to do it.

I'm pretty hyped for this episode, mostly because Twilight is the best pony ( :flattered:

), but also because I'm hoping to get some more evidence for my ludicrously convoluted theory about Twilight learning time magic from Discord.

I am so excited for this one. My speclation is that there's a small scene where Twi and/or Spike try to work out the probably effects of a paradox and turn googly-eyed with confusion.

Or it's just a scroll and we never see future Twilight at all.

Also, I'm finding it difficult to think of a moral/friendship lesson about time travel that could relate to real life.

Just want to say that I am SUPER pumped for this episode. Time-traveling episodes will do that to me, I guess.

As far as speculations..hm...I hope that at one point we see more than one Twilight from the future pop in to make warnings/corrections.

It could be the inverse of Lesson Zero: sometimes, worrying about something is just going to get you into even more trouble and make the situation worse, so do us all a favor and chill out.

I hope that this is the start of the build up to the season finale, with a dire warning about the threat that will be revealed in the last episode. Twilight thought the warning was a false alarm, but she was wrong!

If this episode has a Twilight song then this episode will become one of my favorites. Especially if its a singing telegram from the future. Oh man.

Either way, this episode still sounds kind of bonkos to me, but in a positive way. I really have no idea what to expect aside from the obvious, and that makes things kind of exciting! :allears:

I have no predictions for what could possibly happen this episode, but it is guaranteed to be excellent because ponies and time travel are a combination of two things I dearly love, like a big caramel sundae made out of sex. The fact that it's a Twilight episode makes it all the better. :flattered:

I'm hoping that there's more to this than "Twilight flips out about something trivial" -- that's fun to watch but we've seen it already. Oh, also hoping for some good Spike stuff.

This reminds me of the scene from the second Austin Powers film, where Austin tries to reason through time travel and goes cross-eyed.

You know which background pony would have attempted the same in this episode.

Twilight receives message from herself in the future, warning about something but message is cut short. Twilight spends the episode preparing for something to happen, but it's these preparations that cause the problem. Twilight tries to send message to the past to tell herself to not do anything, but is cut short by Spike doing something. Moral: Don't worry too much just because something might happen.

SG-1 had some great time travel shenanigans, and that episode was the first thing to come to my mind when this leaked in the spoiler thread.
