It's probably just Pinkie and Rainbow pulling a prank on her. :v:

She thinks she's stuck in a time loop like Groundhog Day, but it turns out everyone is just really boring.

Maybe we'll end up with multiple versions of Twilight coming from different points in the timeline, all of them bothering her about different things.

Heh. It's just like that one "Duckman" episode, where different versions of future Duckman start pestering him over every little decision he makes.

That'd be awesome :smirk:

A Groundhog Day loop would be fantastic. And just before every commercial break, the library explodes.

ANd then a montage of Twilight and Spike doing things differently each time loop as they are the only two effected, including hitting golf balls and spike sends them to Canterlot.

They could do anything, for as long as they want without consequences... :sheepish:

For a serious post - my main curiosity about this episode is how any plot holes will be resolved.

Personally I'm hoping for a Sapceballs "then and now" schtick with Twilight trying to explain this to Pinkie.

I doubt that there is actually any time travel involved, I bet it's either some stupid mistake or some pony just plays prank on her.

I just hope this is something more than just Lesson Zero v2.0. :-/

I was thinking the opposite, but, now that I'm really considering the idea, that would make Lesson Zero a little less special. I do want this one to have as unique a texture as LZ, though, just like with any other upcoming episode.

This reminds me: Didn't someone post a ponyfied version of that "Wanted: Someone to go back in time with me" ad not too long ago? I know I saw some sort of parody of it recently.

Damathacus wrote:I doubt that there is actually any time travel involved, I bet it's either some stupid mistake or some pony just plays prank on her.

That's what I figured too. Introducing time travel as a thing that's actually possible seems like a stretch, even for this show. Though my second guess is that it'll end up working like the Time Turner chapter in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, where the past is unchangeable and the most anyone can do is make what already happened happen, but it will also turn out they had just misinterpreted the events.

Well, we already know from Cutie Mark Chronicles that fate exists in the ponyverse, so the past being immutable seems likely.

In The Hundred Light-Year Diary by Greg Egan, there is a deterministic universe that allows for the possibility of backwards communication. However, there is no guarantee that any particular message is the truth. Not that I would suggest that Twilight would intentionally lie to herself, but perhaps she sends the warning in haste and then realizes that she can't send another message to correct the first because she already didn't send such a correction.

Really looking forward to this episode.

Twilight will go back in time to her last birthday to warn herself that she's about to dance like an idiot.

Or to turn the idiot dance into a duet.

So yesterday's episode had Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie.

I hope this one has only Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack, and is implied to be happening concurrent to yesterday's episode.

I don't know why I want this so bad, but I think it would be cool as heck.

In stopping herself from dancing like an idiot, Twilight discovers that that idiotic dance was indirectly responsible for the safety of all of Equestria, and in the end she's forced to go back and do the dance all over again. :-/

I'm also really looking forward to this episode.

Twilight discovers the mechanics behind Pinkie Sense and is able to synthesize the effects with magic. It would be "telechronokinesis", and Twilight will have to vibrate her past knees, shoulders, plot, etc., to send a message. Unfortunately, she forgets all the combos and signals the twitch of the end of days.

But seriously, my biggest hope is that they don't completely destroy logic with this episode. They need to keep it simple. I'm expecting the message to be a contained paradox, where the message is only necessary because it existed in the first place.
