No, that'd be Latin, second declension. Second declension Greek would be -oi.

If they were ever thinking of putting a rap song into the show, this would be the right episode for it. I think we've reached the point by now where you can put a rap song in a kids' show without it feeling awkward and out of place and like the writers were trying too hard to appeal to the hip, modern youth of today.

...Come to think of it, when was that point? I've been out of the loop for so long that I'm pretty much just guessing at this point.

Actually I'm pretty sure we're still not at that point yet.

I mean a more self-aware series can get away with it as a parody of shows that have characters start rapping in a misguided attempt to seem 'hip' but I think it's still something you can't really get away with unironically.

Not even Ponies could make kids-cartoon-rap good.
I believe this despite similar "not even ponies could make ______ good" statements being proven dead wrong.

I'm wondering if any of these dragons will also be similar to Spike in that they are/were assistants to unicorns. Surely Twi isn't the only one who took that test and passed?

I do hope that this episode does put a focus on the fact that Spike is the only dragon in Ponyville, and how that may affect his relationship with the rest of the cast. He's one of the gang, sure, but he's still an entirely different creature (god that sounds kinda racist out of context).

I have a feeling it'll end up being like an episode about adoption, where the lesson is something like "It doesn't matter where you really came from, or what differences you may have, family is still family".

Discord wrote:

I have no idea why I remember that particular episode considering how long it has been, but Charizard got frozen solid, and Ash spent the episode carefully thawing him out (lighting campfires, even wrapping his jacket around him). At the end, he finally got the trust of the damn thing.

I don't know why rap has to suck this bad in cartoons, but I'll bet I could come up with an explanation involving racism if I thought about it (not going to think about it).

They could have a rap number but subvert it like they did with Pinkie's song in Over a Barrel. (So pretty much what you were saying about a self-aware parody, which I definitely think is in character for FiM.)

You all will change your mind once you hear Swagberg spit dat shit in Friendship is Witchcraft 6.

Anyway, it could happen like this. The dragons' leader challenges Spike to a rap battle. Spike can't rap, so he asks Twilight to do it instead of him. Then Twilight totally owns that dragon with her superior vocabulary and dope flow (which she learned from Zecora).

Faust had a comment on her DA account a while back saying that, in her mind, Spike is actually the first baby dragon to be hatched by ponies. Granted, it's not canon, and there's no reason why the current show runners can't come up with stuff that contradicts her thoughts on those sorts of things, but since she was still involved with the show at this point (even if it wasn't as much) I'm inclined to think we won't see things that directly contradict Faust's answers until season 3 (if only because she probably would have adjusted her thoughts on the matter if it had come up during production).

Who said anything about disliking rap?

I like rap, I just don't think a cartoon could really get away with rapping without it being incredibly cheesy. They could make it intentionally cheesy, sure, but I don't think it's something you can pull off unironically.

Not really, adoption and "honorary family" are extremely different. It would be the same situation if one of the other main 5 was raised on the Apple family farm like one of their own despite having no connection by blood, however.

That's what I'm talking about with Spike. Twilight is the only family he knows, but they aren't even the same species, let alone related. I see this episode beginning with him finally becoming fully aware of that fact, and needing to go on this retreat to be with his "own kind", but realize that his home is with the others in Ponyville.
