Random idea for a future synchtube: Top Gear UK. Perhaps do season 18 since it technically hasn't aired in the US yet? It might be a good introduction to those who've never seen Top Gear, since IMO it's one of the best seasons in recent memory. Alternatively, just do a "greatest hits" style synchtube of all the best episodes.

I'd be up for setting one up tonight, but I won't be available until 10:00 PM EST/9 PM CST/7 PM PST/whatever the fuck europes time zone is who cares. I've been thinking of hosting a Gaki no Tsukai "No Laughing" Batsu game synchtube. It's a japanese TV show special in which a group of comedians are put into ridiculous situations for an extended length of time and have to stop themselves from laughing, or they get an owwie on their bums.

And it doesn't help that sometimes the contestants themselves make each other laugh.

Each "episode" lasts over 2 hours, so I was thinking of doing just one episode per synchtube and put it in a late-nightish weekday slot, like every wednesday or tuesday or something until I run out of these games. What do you guys think? :wantitneedit:

Edit: By "Thinking of" I of course mean the first episode is 50% uploaded to youtube. :pinkietoot:

Tomorrow I'm going to test out how well I can use Livestream to host movies Youtube doesn't want you to see!

I'm thinking Tremors 1, No Country For Old Men, or Scott Pilgrim. Unfortunately my comp can't run Blu-rays and that's all I buy these days for movies worth buying.

Probably will start 7pm MST (9pm EST) in my Livestream room.

This Saturday, as sort of a late-night double feature after the horror of OFS's Sonichu synch, I'm thinking of hosting a B-Movie Double Feature sort of thing.

First up is Space Mutiny, as riffed on by MST3k. Space Mutiny is a sci-fi action movie starring Reb Brown as Dave Ryder, a space pilot who is enlisted to help fight off a mutiny on the colony ship, The Southern Sun. Lead by the evil Kalgan, the mutiny attempts to redirect the Southern Sun's course to a nearby system, where it will end it's voyage early. It's up to Dave Ryder to help retake control of the ship, and stop Kalgan and his fellow mutineers.

It should also be noted that Space Mutiny is probably one of the best MST3k eps, and it's certainly one of my favorites. The movie is stupid and entertaining enough to enjoy watching and laughing at it, and the riffing done by Mike and the Bots just compounds it into something special.

The second movie is The Asylum's Sherlock Holmes . This movie is a story told by Watson on his deathbed during the Blitz. Here, he finally reveals Holmes' greatest case, a story never told until now, as the world was not ready to know the truth. It begins with Holmes and Watson investigating a string of unusual monster attacks that defy all belief, and it just goes from there.

The Asylum is a studio specializing in B-Movies, most notably "mockbusters", movies that are made to cash in on recent movies in the box office. This one in particular though....this one is just ridiculous and stupid, and it knows it. And it's awesome for it. I've never seen any movies by The Asylum, and they're kind of a mixed bag from what I hear. This is probably one of the best ones though. I'm not going to go into any more detail on the plot, because you really have to see it to get the full effect.

If this sounds good with everyone, I'd be hosting this synchtube this Saturday, at 8pm EST. The synch would last 3 hours, with the two movies back to back with a short intermission in between.

For what it's worth, I DID sit through all of the first Twilight movie on a bet for $50 and succeeded, AND I've had to sit through a really bad fanfic reading involving Touhou characters having really badly described lesbian sex. I think I'm ready for the next level.

However, this Saturday I MIGHT have a problem. My dad is going to be on campus and wants to have an early dinner with me around 5 or so, not exactly sure yet. Chances are I might miss the opening of the paintube in case I don't get back by 8, but I should be back before then. Would being slightly late invalidate a chance at a paintube tag? If it was moved to Sunday, then I could make it at any reasonable time, as I have no social obligations that day, but if not then I think Saturday might still work for me.

This would be wonderful! I don't know if the episodes you're looking at are subtitled, but the series really doesn't need to be to get what's going on.
