Welp

Just got an email from them saying that the second Octavia print broke. Her tail snapped off. They offered me the option of sending me the broken one and a coupon for a 10% discount on a future purchase (fuck that) or to give me a refund coupon for the full amount. Kinda bullshit that they didn't offer just to give me my money back, but since my superglued Octavia looks just fine, I think I'm gonna take the full coupon and spend it on a DJ Pon3, so they can stand face-to-face, staring each other down.

As the DJ has sunglasses on, you may or may not actually be staring Octavia down. You'll never know where she's looking.

Allowing people to submit any arbitrary model is not good business sense. :-/

How the feck are they supposed to ship this thing through the mail?

So have you guys heard about the MLP LEGO project? Apparently if 10,000 people support this LEGO is going to look into securing the My Little Pony license and make LEGO ponies.

LEGO wrote:Congratulatory message from LEGO for +500 votes

Congratulations on all of the supporters! Great job on the concept pony figurines, it's clear you've captured the look and feel of My Little Pony as a potential LEGO model.

With the popularity of the new show, it's clear people would want a LEGO tribute. Of course if this reaches 10,000, we'd have to secure a license. Until then, best of luck on your journey to 10,000 supporters!

Please understand that this initial green light does not have an effect on the LEGO Review that will take place if the project reaches 10,000 supporters. Until then, we wish you the best of luck on your journey to 10,000 supporters!

It's nice idea but I highly doubt that Hasbro would sell the license to their competitor. Still it doesn't hurt to give it some support, but you probably shouldn't get your hopes too high even if this reaches that 10k mark, and who knows maybe if Hasbro doesn't sell them the license they get some new ideas from it themselves.

Still MLP Lego would be cool as heck. I would buy Luna figure and put her in my Lego space shuttle so she could do some space missions. :v:

Hasbro would never do it; they would make MLP KREO sets instead, since they have a controlling interest (I believe) in the company that produces KREO sets. They already did transformers sets.

Imagine how much business KREO would get. My 12 year old brother said KREO was "dumb" but I think some ponies could change his mind :smirk:
Lego would be sweet though, but probably out of my pony budget :v:

I'd buy pony KRE-O sets. KRE-O is compatible with LEGO, and honestly they aren't too bad compared to some of the other LEGO knockoffs I've seen.

Either way, you have no idea how much I'd love LEGO-compatible ponies. I'm glad the Cuusoo project is making the rounds again and getting some more attention. I really hope it gets some kind of results. :wantitneedit:

Doing some cleaning today, I discovered I have one 2012 McDonalds Fluttershy left! She apparently fell over behind some stuff in my drawer and I didn't notice it. She's still in her bag and everything.

Soooooo...if anyone would like it, draw me a MS Paint picture of Fluttershy! If you are the first to post the self-drawn picture in this thread, you win!

I have a Shapeways Octavia. Not broken in the slightest :golfclop: Its a good thing too, because I hardly ever spend money on myself. A lot of that goes into paying all my bills, so it was a treat to get it in perfect condition when apparently there have been a lot of issues with it arriving damaged.

I plan on getting the Vinyl one too, sooner or later, but right now Im flat broke.

I also have a completely awesome 2011 Mcdonalds Rainbow Dash, Courtesy of Willsun from the ANIMEPRIL FOOLS contest a while back. First Ponytoy I got. Rainbow Dash and Kenshiro are the best of friends right here on my desktop

Weren't those confirmed to be knock-offs? In fact, Knock-offs of a smaller, brushable pegasus body since there's the accessory hole in the bottom of one of FS Derpy's hooves, while true FS ponies don't have that because they don't have accessories like scooters, etc.

Looks like a legit pony mold to me. I think they just cancelled the toy after Derpygate and these were the test prints or something. Now it's a rare collector's item that will go for thousands of $ on eBay.

They would say that, wouldn't they? No one could make such an accurate fakie. It even has the little MLP logo on its hoof. Probably used to be a part of that set with DJ-PON3 and Nightmare Moon.

No, it can't possibly have been in that set, it's FAR too big. DJ P0N3 is a brushable sized pony, while the Derpy KO is Fashion Style sized.

Not to get too off topic, but sometimes, rarely, the knockoffs are actually way better. There was this GBS thread I read a long time ago about cheapo foreign toy knockoffs, and this one guy who likes those animu models has a really cool post. Compared the official (they're big, maybe 12 inches?) Gundam model kits to some of the knockoffs. The one that was the best was the Nu-Gundam's knockoff, The "Nu-Gundoom" as it said on the box, was actually of a much, much higher quality.

He was happily surprised.

Speaking of the box, my mom happened to see me take it into my room, and it led to me having to (re-)explain the whole pony thing to her and why I was getting a pony toy in the mail, which then led to her wanting to see the picture I drew and then spending several minutes browsing this thread and asking questions while I was behind her squirming. :nngh:

Buying pony toys is always hard for me. Always feel like a smuggler when sneaking the toys into my room. I also have to hold all of my friends toys, since they are too afraid to keep them in their own house. My mom found the 24 pony set, I told her I bought them "becuase they were cute" (its true :allears: ) Maybe smuggling the ponies is part of fun, like the Pony Cartel!
