Hmm, maybe that's a "tamed" portion of the Everfree forest, because the entrance in the pilot certainly didn't have a house next to it. I'm guessing the trail starts off to one side or the other.

A few more things I noticed in this shot, Lyra and Bon-Bon are hanging out just left of the town hall, while Derpy is over on the right by a tree with Dr. Whooves. Guess that was her appearance for this episode.

I also hadn't been able to see all the houses on the background hills at a lower resolution. That gives the town a great sense of scale.

Isn't Fluttershy's house within spitting distance of the Everfree Forest? Not that we can see it here. In fact, I can't see the library, either, even though the windmill is there.

It's very conspicuous in the shots where the sun is "ticking" across the sky in Lesson Zero.

It's not too elegant and may not be usable for a wallpaper or anything, because it's stitched together from a diagonal pan and the sky moves independently of the castle; but for academic purposes, i.e. looking at details, this has its merits.

I might need more specifics. Can you capture the exact frames in low-res so I can match them? There are lots of different scenes that take place in the caboose and the cab.

Ouch. Even in the iTunes copy, there's just too much going on, and the compression destroys it. Also, QuickTime Player seems to have completely removed the screenshot ability. :applejargh:

Hum. I grabbed a different 720 copy, pulled this shot. Sufficient for the use I had for it, but still...

Force of habit, I guess -- I watch poni full-screen. My monitors are 1080. My player's screencap functionality literally captures the current screen. :pinkieshrug:

If you screw around with filters, you can cover up some of the compression artifacts. I don't know what purpose you want it for but this is probably not sufficient.

This one's color-corrected, as well.

If you don't mind moving forward or backward a few frames, I can get it a lot cleaner. That one particular frame just happens to be completely artifacted up.
