The only reason I didn't post that the first time I saw it is because I wouldn't know how to wipe the incredibly smug look off my face while doing so. It's this close-mouthed, lightly dimpled halfmast smirk, with one eyebrow slightly lowered. I'd light a cigar and put my feet up. Then I'd post pics. I figure that wouldn't be very polite.

e: Oh, the item database on the official site is updated. The uniques are so cool :awesomedash:

After playing in the closed beta, I am compelled to roll a female barbarian. With her sound effects and the general quality of the game's ragdoll animation, it is the first must-play class for me.

Those all look like the same skills though....with like...a rune in the middle? What do those do?

The runes are small modifiers to the actual skill. I wouldn't exactly call those individual skills, so that graphic above is kinda misleading.

It looks like D3 Wizard has 25 skills to the D2 Sorc's 30, without counting any runes, or the passive skills. Runes are pretty neat though so D3 still comes out on top, if you ask me.

Thing is, many if not most runes substantially change the functionality of the skill. Ray of frost, for instance, can be a straight damage dealer, a 0-cost left-click spell to be used while you wait for your arcane power to come back, a close-range circle of cold damage that lasts as long as you hold down the button, and this other thing that "leaves behind a patch of ice" that deals 193% damage to anything standing there over a period of three seconds. There may be better examples; I just picked the first thing I thought of. I would use slow time and that barbarian one where you grab an enemy with a chain and pull them toward you, but I should really be somewhere else right now.

What tipped you off? Was it the way I've memorized the skills, the fact that I started this thread two months too early and then basically spent most of it talking to myself, or the fact that I start white knighting the game every single time someone suggests some kind of flaw, or the fact that I've been walking around and just continuously bellowing :twonk: AAAAAAAAAAAH :twonk: while going through the motions of an otherwise typical summer day?

I'll say this now. Buy a damn authenticator, for the love of god. Or, just get the equivalent app for free on your smartphone. It's only a slight increase in the time it takes to log in (two codes instead of one), and it makes it much harder to get hacked. You do not want to get hacked.

Art...did you not play Diablo 2?

"Normal" means your first playthrough. After you beat the game, it unlocks "Nightmare" and finally "Hell", or "Inferno" in this game.

Actually Hell still exists. Inferno is a fourth difficulty level after Hell containing enemies at or above the level cap. It's also supposed to be hard enough that the devs never managed to beat it legitimately.
