It really bugs me how there's a Jinn in "It's about time." The fact that the Time Spells are in the Starswirl the Bearding wing has a circular worldline. Twilight learns it from Future Twilight, and then Twilight tells Past Twilight about it.

That video is pretty great, but man do those OCs stick out like sore thumbs.

The only ones I can identify are Mandopony's OC (the yellow one singing with the guitar cutie mark) and Emerald May (the personal OC of the animator). Aside from the mohawk pony with the stars cutie mark, all the other ones look like they're from the show.

Following the Changeling Invasion Celestia starts a nationwide investigation intending to root out any shapeshifters. Twilight is initially helpful, trusting her mentor completely. Over time though it becomes clear that the investigation is based on paranoia. When borders are crossed and Twilight's friends are faced with unfair judgement she openly defies Celestia, veering into an epic ten minute speech that will be remembered and applicable two decades from now.

But Celestia isn't allowed to be evil, so she'll turn out to be Chrysalis in disguise.

So I was watching Cantlerlot Wedding again and I just found a reference that will blow everyone's mind.

Love is a burning thing and it made a firey ring.
Twilight fell for Crystalis just like a child...

And it burns, burns, burns, the ring of fire.

This makes even more sense when you realise Ring Of Fire is a love song with the lyrics "The taste of love is sweet". Leave it to the writers to sneak in a Man In Black reference like that.

OK so some people think that Pinkie Pie is the most magical pony because she has the most friends and friendship=magic.

Wrong.

Twilight Sparkle has the most powerful magic. Not because her talent means she has lot of friends. But because her talent (magic) must therefore equal friendship.

Twilight is the best possible friend basically by default, she can't help it.

One of my favorite webcomics, Unwinder's Tall Comics just did a comic that features MLP as a plot point. It still freaks me out when I see pony references in something totally unrelated.

I was thinking about Celestia, and why some people seem to either REALLY like her, or dislike her. (All that New Lunar Republic brouhaha.)

And, it dawned on me, that, Celestia is like...Jesus plus Mom. And it stands to reason that, maybe subconsciously, our love/disdain for either or both of those things may influence how we see the character in the show.

Really, Horses love beer. A neighbor we had, had an old grey horse named "Smoke" that, at large BBQ gatherings, would just walk around the large yard mingle with the people, and, upon seeing an abandoned beer bottle on a table, would pick it up, and tip its head back. It was great.

I had to read a book that essentially WAS Beowulf told from Grendel's PoV (mostly new prequel stuff since he dies kind of early in the actual Beowulf story).

Can't say I was blown away like it like my English teacher was, but I've got evidence that suggests she was slightly insane, too.

Personally, I think people just overdo the whole "poor mysterious brooding anti-hero" thing way too much. Oh nooo, Nightmare Moon didn't do anything wrong, how dare Celestia banish her own sister, I'm sure there were no justifiable reasons for this whatsoever, Luna is a perfect little angel, yadda yadda.

I always like referring to this little comic when it comes to this matter. Sure, it's passive agressive and over the top, but it still made me gigglesnort and nod in agreement.

I think a lot of the "Luna was innocent/Celestia was too cruel" mentality has to do with how Luna, who had been turned into Nightmare Moon namely because of her wanting more attention for what she did compared to her exalted sister, was punished in a way that actually deprived her of any attention that she had to the point nobody remembered there was a difference between Luna and NMM 1,000 years later (as expressed with the mane six when they express surprise to the fact Celestia has a sister, and later in Luna Eclipsed when everybody else thought she was still Nightmare Moon), although that follows the idea that had Luna gotten more attention, things would have worked out, and ignores the truth that NMM still essentially wanted to kill everything on the planet by removing the sun.

[MordjaLYRA is the cool pony who likes to hang out. You can find most of the cool ponies with her. LYRA can just chill and do whatever and totally relax. "Take it easy" is the LYRA motto, for example, that's how laid back she is.]
